Changes for that ONE DAY IN OCTOBER !!

Post: # 999089Post Eastern »

I doubt that Ross will make wholesale changes but we should rank those in line for a call up;

1. Big Ben (to replace Gardi)

2. Geary

3. Stanley

4. Armitage

5. Miles

I'm thinking only the one change. The rest is purely academic !!

NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!

Miles! After all, he was the only winner on the night. Has the experience of winning it on the biggest stage of them all :P

But seriously, I think no changes should be made, unless Gardi can't come up.

Gardy's hammy is suspect and will be suspect next week. Big Ben has to come in.

I have often thought that the grand final sprint should require players to carry and bounce the ball. But it is strange that Saints players should win it two years in succession.

On the selection front, it is pretty clear to me that our best 22 were out there today. Alas, three or four of those make the mistakes that leads to opposition goals. If those errors are minimised next week, we will win.

Where are you watching from?
It was daytime at the game I was at.

Armo to play defensive forward much better skills than Eddy or Mini & can kick a goal. Can't carry Grammy any more can't get up a gallop. Geary in for him. Big Ben must come in can't risk Gardi breaking down again.

Yes like that as well Sam23. Could go Steven for Armo or vis versa. Just think defensive fwd Could really be a goer for Armo.

Didn't Gardy spend the whole second half on the bench. If he was unable to come on then surely he can't play next week.

They are saying this is a negative for us, but I see it as a positive. If we can play the whole second half a ruckman down in a game when we went in with only one usual ruckman, then surely next week we'll be better with MCEvoy in and fresh and hungry

If they all come up (apart from maybe Gards, still not confirmed?), as little as possible.

I probably never thought I'd say this, but I reckon maybe we ought to bring in Miles, if Gardi doesn't play, to free up Sam Gilbert to play forward (on Maxwell) again. That was a crucial move and one that I think we'll need to repeat next week, especially if Gardi doesn't come up and Kosi is needed for more ruckwork.

Out-
Gardi (if injured)
Gram (if not fitter than today), or else Eddy (unlucky, but makes too many blues)

In-
McEvoy
Miles

why Baker?

Are you assuming he can't get up again for a game next week?

CJ looked not right today - is he carrying an injury? Didn't seem to be able to put the peddle down, running wise.

I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

He still did a good job.

My question is, will all players get premiership medallions even if they can't play in the second game (Gardiner) ??

Yes in part. But I actually think Geary provides Bakers close checking but has quicker leg speed, so combined with Bakes recovery, I'd make the change.

Wondered that myself FQF

In my opinion they should. I mean, it's really just a continuation of today's game.

And it would take a lot of the McEvoy type disappointment out of the selection process.

Anyone who played a senior game this year should get a premiership medal when we win next week.

No change apart from injuries.
