"Unmanly"...what a disgrace
I see in the report on tonights hearing they say the tribunal labelled Baker's actions as "unmanly".
WTF is that? Again (not unsurprisingly), I have never heard a judicial body associated with the AFL label a player in a manner such as that.
What a bloody disgrace.

Please...let's win a Premiership before GEELONG!!!! (O.k., so we've missed that opportunity...maybe let's win the next one before Geelong????)

Reeks of AFL dictating a pre-meditated outcome doesn't it.
"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

Couldn't you at least find one with Sam Newman? He did plenty of that stuff.
Old enough to repaint, but young enough to sell

AFL advocate Andrew Tinney scores a handy win Mark Robinson From: Herald Sun June 30, 2010 12:00AM
IF LOOKS could kill, AFL advocate Andrew Tinney would be a dead man.
As Steve Baker's people tried to get him off for punching Steve Johnson's hand - a successful charge that now changes the playing field for all players - Baker had to listen to his reputation being shredded.
He had taken countless hits to his dignity in the past three days, courtesy of him being charged four times for striking Geelong's Steve Johnson, but nothing this official.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
AFLPA- can they allow their members to be denigrated in this manner? an almost 200 game player with 10 years in the game.......

It certainly would be nice for the AFLPA to awaken from their slumber in regards to this matter.saintbrat wrote:http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/a ... 5885915131

Tinney and the Tribunal held all the cards in this one. They were gonna rub Bakes out regardless. There was absolutely no need from Tinbrain to make such a disparaging remark, particularly when he would have been all too aware that it would be plastered over the media.
Baker might be annoying to some people but they've totally done him over this time.
No need to be a smartarse Andrew (what is it with that name?)

Absolute codswallop. Baker's actions might be reasonably described as "ungentlemanly", "ruthless", "callous", etc. But "unmanly"?
"Unmanly", in a sporting context, is Italian soccer players writhing around in agony on the ground looking for unwarranted penalties.
Baker was a bit of a twit allowing himself to get stiched up like this. But always manly.

I cant swallow that at all.
They were there to asses particular incidents and that is it. To call him "unmanly" is just wrong and quite frankly untrue.
They can say his actions "werent in the spirit of the game" whatever that is any more but leave his character out of it.
