7 Picks ?????

Post: # 860554Post ace »

The St Kilda F.C. website says St Kilda has 7 picks in the National Draft.

http://www.saints.com.au/season2009/new ... fault.aspx

By my calculations there are only 6.

2 "picks" will be used to permanently upgrade Zac Dawson and Luke Miles to the senior list.
4 picks will bring the number of senior players and veterans inside the list to 38.
Lenny Hayes is the only veteran outside the list accoding to List Lodgement No2.

If Baker had been made a veteran outside the list I would see a 7th pick.
As it is I only see 6.

Does anyone know where the club found a 7th pick in the National Draft.

Didn't we get an extra one for Xavier Clarke?

According to the AFL website, our picks are:

32, 60, 64, 80, 96, 112, 128.

But after 2 promotion "picks" there are only 4 places left at List Lodgement No2.

How did they get 5 places - was Baker made veteran outside the list?

Then we gain
1 Lovett
2 Peake

That leaves 6 vacancies including the promotion of Dawson and Miles.
Has Baker been moved outside the list of 38 to create the extra vacancy?

If we create another vacancy by putting Steve on the Vet. List, dont we then lose a rookie spot?

YES and that would be a nominated rookie eligible for senior selection.

The club is now saying they have only 4 picks in the National Draft (obviously not including rookie upgrades).
