Lovett Caught Drinking

Post: # 858564Post Spinner »

Herald Sun page 2.....Found drunk in St Kilda and locked up overnight.

Was charged but will not face court - Confirmed by Greg Hutchison.

Hmmmm Not a good start. Those character references are starting to look a little flimsy.....

(Cant find the link on the site as yet)

I hope he has clauses in his contract ...that significantly cost him for events like this. Gees this is a worry for a young man given a fresh start at a new club, obviously has issues!

Gee I hope it is contagious, would make life easier to have a rival club go down with such a disease.

Haven't seen any story on HS website.

Very disappointing if true, but don't have paper so would like to read the story or hear the official confirmation first.

there is no link up.

as spinner said, greg hutchison confirmed it.

lovett was drunk and wondering around wellington st, st kilda, at 6am. he was put in the lock up until 10 am.

charged, but will not face court. hutchison said something along the lines of the leadership group will be eager to hear lovett's side of the story when they get back.

Charging is an offence under AFL rules, I hope those police get suspended for a couple of weeks.

Not good. It is the reason why Essendon wanted him gone.

One thing though. Did he do anyone damage? Or harm? Or was he just drunk?

As far as I know there is no law against being drunk.

just drunk, i think, which isn't a serious crime as you say. you don't want it becoming a pattern though.

What? To be drunk?

Fair Dinkum. The coppers would want to invest in some pretty large lockups if everyone who fets drunk on a Saturday night is breaking the law.

Must have been really pissed for the coppers to pick him up.

Or, dare i say it, a drunk aborigional in St.Kilda. Really hope not.

Anyway Lovett hasd form with alochol. Hopefully he concentrates soley on football come footy season.

You're right. As I said to jb, thought about that and I sincerely hope that wasn't the case.

Its not an offence to be drunk, except in a public place (unless the laws have changed since I retired).
