Crystal Ball 2010
Well, another season comes to an end, God what am I going to do next weekend, worst weekend of the year you just can't get enthused to do anything because you are on football withdrawal symptoms.
Yesterday is history, we can be proud of our boys they didn't let us down for effort, guts.
The game was in doubt for 99% of it's running and I'm sure the hurt will burn in them and spur them on for next year.
As my brother's oldest friend said to us today, he believes we are on the verge of the St.Kilda era, he doesn't follow us.
So other than us winning the flag 12 months from today, predictions.
For me, we wont play Geelong in next years Grand Final.
If Collingwood have a bad start to the year, the succession plan will come early.
Port will nearly self destruct as feud between Williams and the board becomes all out war, Port and Richmond will battle for the spoon, Richmond because they have begun to clean out the over supply of deadwood they have.
Adelaide will be the team we could play for the premiership, or the Bulldogs.
However believe Hall will be a flop.
Hawthorn are the wildcard, could return to 08 form, or struggle to make the 8 again due to their small defence.
No improvement in Collingwood or Carlton.

Except for the sanity nothing much has been lost.
A Key Position player will win the brownlow (Hopefully Roo)
Leon Davis will be at another club and FAIL
Barry Hall will get the dogs to the Grandfinal
Tom Scully will not live up to the hype
Trengove will be the instant success from this draft (Sellwood like)
Hayes will lay 150+ Tackles
Fev will kick 100+ goals for the saints
Hawks will finish top 4 and go out in straight sets

Internally
Maguire our custodian at fullback.
Xavier Clarke back and fit as a third tall forward/mid rotation with Lynch to fill the void if X can't do it anymore.
McEvoy to come on in leaps and bounds as a genuine mobile ruckman in place of the retiring King (?).
Armitage to work his arse of in the off season to give us a fit and extra hard nut midfield distributor and finisher.
Plenty of upside. PLENTY.
Externally
Port and Richmond three wins apiece for a shared spoon.
Collingwood will underachieve and Mick will be shoved asiude early.
Barry Hall will be a monumental flop (although this may be more hope than anything else).
St Kilda Vs Carlton (who beat Geelong in the prelim) in the GF.

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

Crystral Ball? Is she Luke's sister? We had better check her for osteitis pubis before recruiting her.

Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

My predictions.
Geelong will still be very good. They got the same age players as the Saints and are not quite ready for the slide south.
Carlton will get better - they have to, with all their first round draft picks, Judd and Fev (they won’t get rid of him) and some talented young players
Essendon will make the 8.
I don’t think Adelaide will be in the running. Too many players retired and an ageing list. This season they have been carried by the old brigade.
Bulldogs will be good, but have only a chance if BBBB is firing which is a big question mark.
Collingwood will be good to a point, but won’t go far - same old, same old – treading water.
Not sure about Brisbane.
BUT - watch out for the Hawks. They’ll be back at their best and will be my tip for the GF.
As for the Saints - all things being equal - they should be battling the Hawks in the GF, but as I said - all things being equal and that is never a given when it comes to St. Kilda!

Hmmm, some I agree with, some I don't...
Carlton has a list with some great players, that are capable of playing some great footy. From what I have seen this year though, I am not convinced yet that they have a game plan.
If the doggies get Barry, I think this will be their downfall. The first indiscretion, and it will unsettle the place. Not a fan of Rocket myself, not sure a last desperate attempt to get whatever is available on the market improves my opinion.
Hawks are an interesting one, if they can put in the hard work (?) they will be up there in 2010.
Neil Craig will do his best to emulate Ross, but not quite as well.
So I am thinking a top four of Saints, Hawks, Adelaide and Geelong
