National Anthem

Post: # 833944Post Griggsy »

Trying to take my mind off the game.

Rarely I am disappointed by the national anthem, but the Jersey boys, From my opinion watching on tv were horrible. A good strong anthem pumps players up, builds the atmosphere, prepares for the start of an epic struggle. These ladies just didnt do it for me.

yep, it was an insipid rendition. possibly the worst i've heard at a grand final.

should have got rose tattoo instead of farnsey/barnsey.

What was with the stage in the Western stand rather than the middle?
- they were still in the rain.

I also thought the anthem had no impact. It wasn't exactly rousing, especially with that high pitched Frankie Valli bit.

When they created LENNY HAYES (in the shadow of Harvs) they forgot to break the mold (again)- hence the Supremely Incredible Jack Steven!!

Loved Barnesy, Farnesy and Seymour.

They probably ended up in the stand cos the stage would've been fairly heavy on the wet ground (remember the U/16, U/18 games were moved cos they would've damaged the MCG surface too much).

Very disappointed with Advance Australia Fair. Especially when it could be as good as this...

Hope that brings a smile to some sad faces.

2010 has a nice ring to it.
