Saints theme song circa 1980's??
Does anyone on here remmeber (and preferably have a recording) of the theme song they used to play at Moorabbin the the late 1980's.
The words were something like:
We're Saints, We're proud
And we've got a lot of might
We're on the move
And you'll see us fight
We hit'em nice and hard
And make'em drop their guard
And we're loyal to our mates
Cos we're the saints
Oh when the Saints
Go marching in
Oh when the Saints
Go marching in
Oh how I want to be at StKIlda
When the saints go marching in

I certainly remember it...and I do believe someone posted a link here at some point.
Speaking of that era...Saw a girl sitting in the front row of M50 last night wearing a Saints jumper with the Number (12) in the old 80's "multi-line" design that was adopted briefly
had never seen that on a supporter before

I too enjoyed that theme song which is now on YouTube.
Just search Saints Fightback Song - Doug Parkinson on YouTube and hit play.
Back to the early 90's!

I noticed that we haven’t played our new theme song since round 1.
Is this by accident or design?

They used to belt it out in the Social Club after a win at Moorabbin and everyone would sing it loud and proud.
Has a lot more "guts" than our official song!

Looking up this song on Youtube led to the following clip from the Coodabeen Champions, it's a timeless classic featuring an interview with Saints supporter Sandy Roberts:
Enjoy!!!
Enjoy!!!
"Any candidate for political office, once chosen for leadership, must have the will to take the wheel of a very powerful car, tasked from time to time to make a fast journey down a narrow, precipitous mountain road – and be highly skilled at driving. Otherwise, he is disqualified from the company of competent leaders."
