Footy first need to find cash

Post: # 795215Post Goose is king »

I believe we will win the premiership this year (knocking on wood).

Obviously Ross Lyon is a star but SOS and Leigh Tudor would have to become very, very hot property after our 25th win in a row and would no doubt be paid very well if they were to leave us with the knowledge they have. For the sake of on field success we need to make sure we keep them even if they are paid more than currently budgeted for. Premierships are so hard to win we shouldn't care if we run at a loss to get them in the near future (not that that will happen).

Im sorry mate but if you wait until then to sign these guys up the other clubs would be very quick to act. Collingwood and Sydney have recently showed great leadership to secure there future. We need to secure these guys before its too late. May I say FFS.

Silvagni is contracted until the end of 2010 and has publicly stated he is going no where.

Has also been attributed to him that he would love to be the senior coach of St Kilda at some point. Loves the club and loves RL ... he ain't going anywhere.

And we gave Tudor his break into AFL ranks ... and signed him for 2 years I believe?

I havew no doubt the Board and the CEO are working on keeping this footy department team together. The board has not put a foot wrong so far . No criticism from any areas of the media and club is harmonious it seems. I think we should have some confidence in them that they will get this stuff right too.

We have an absolute dream team. We'll be like Sydney's coaching resume in their glory era - Lyon's been poached already and Longmire is going. Tudor and Silvagni are good enough to be head coaches and it will be interesting to see if we can hold on to them.

Perhaps a rotation? All three could take a co-coach position? I don't know.

You may wish to check the news from yesterday - Longmire is going o be Sydney Coach

Lyon's contract was extended at the end of last year- and I would imagine they would be secureing him into the future.
Ross stated in an uinterview a few weeks ago that the night he got the call about presenting to the St Kilda selection committee he spent the evening/ night with SOS and Elshuagh- they are a team and including Tudor has only been good.

I think Ross's demonstrable talent has been recruiting great assistance.

I am sure he will give kudos to those have been the co-pilots if his plan works.

If our great dream prevails history will report that our coach was R Lyon. The rest are ephemeral. We will remember them, maybe. Who remembers the peripheral figures who assisted Allan Jeans? I don't.

I think the defence is a visible reflection of SOS, but he won't be in the stats as
Coach of DEEEEFence.

SO get over it, if the other guys earn their stripes as assistants, they will move on after we have won two, three, four in a row.

P.S. Thank Christ we are rid of John Barker, with all due respect to his personal talent, he was a fugt forward coach, cf Hawthorn 2009.
