Report of the Noise by those who were at the game

Post: # 769015Post VietNam_Saint »

Ok , I watched the game online , then the last half again on the telly here , funnily enough the result was the same.

Listening on telly , I thought the Cat voice was much, much greater than the Saints one. Admittedly, I do think there was a huge amount of noise , as it should have been with 54,000 souls screaming.

I am interested to know your views , those who were there .

Did "we" scream and yell ? Or was it all a bit quiet compared to the others .

Views please-

Saints fans rocked the dome!

The full stadium chant while we were waiting for Taylor to be taken off was fantastic.

From where I was sitting the roar was equally strong from both sides .. whoever had the run of play had the noise with em at the time ..

Either way - one of the sounding atmospheres on the TV I've ever heard ..

it was great to hear the supporters making noise in the last quarter when the scores were level. Usually you dont hear a peep when where challenged like that.

but seriously our "BALL!!!'s" on TV sounded almost carltonesque if there is such a thing.
geelong's "BALL's" were poor i thought. and their "GEE'LONG" from their cheersquad is way worse than our "SIN'KILDA"
very proud of the noise.
great job sainters you did us proud in the noise department.

Loudest Ive heard the MW in a very long time...we shook Level 3!!

What was especially pleasing were the chants starting up when we were challeneged and the Cats fans fired up.

Agree..the noise we made whilst they were getting Taylor on the stretcher was awesome..

Must agree. I usually do not sit on this side of the ground, but I took the opportunity to add my voice to the throng (unusual for me). The Saints noise and support was good. Something to emulate in future. Go Saints!

Right from before the first bounce it was the loudest I have ever heard in all the games we have played there. Was even louder than the night Troy kicked the winner against Brisbane. This noise never let up, you could not hear yourself yell ( a good thing at times).

I thought our support was immense today, I was very proud.

It reminded me of the old days where we would yell, scream, and chant regardless of how well we were going.

Lets keep it up. We expect the players to give 100% effort 100% of the time, why shouldn't we do the same.

"...If there has been one recurring theme through this whole shocking mess, it has been the misguided, inflated egos and their ill-judged determination to cling to long-standing old boy friendships. The bad advice that has guided the selfish and culpable James Hird has not only punctuated this saga but symbolised it..."

Amzing the difference in attitudes of fans when we are playing a team our equal.

For 13 weeks we've go into games as favorites..and people want blood from the get-go and anything less than a one-sided bath is derided by some people. Today was so different, a real challenge and the fans could see that the team were giving 110% and responded accordingly

The first 20 mins of the game was amazing. people out of their seats for every mark and contest.

Was an awesome atmosphere.....the chanting and cheering was never contrived as it sometimes can be at games, nearly everyone was into it.

I reckon the first quarter goal avalanche noise was possibly the loudest of the match - took a bit out of us Saints fans for the next term or two, before a second wind in the last term.

The closed roof helped keep us warm enough also, adding a bit of energy to the lungs!
