16 game members attending tomorrow night..please read!!!

Post: # 755999Post saint66au »

Ive rung ES to ty to get tot he bottom of why you cant upgrade to a $5.50 GA ticket when you have a 17 game membership..and heres why!!

When delcaring that all GA tickets are sold, the Stadium assume that X amount of Carlton 11 / Saints 17 game members will just scan in...and they leave that amount of GA seats unsold..SO..thats why you cant upgrade to a paper ticket with your 17 game membership..theres no need!!

So..if you are a 16 game member and you've out of frustation bought a $22.60 GA ticket...BOTH are still valid. You can use your card to scan in

My suggestion?? Get there nice and early, scan in using your card, get yourself a seat...then get a passout, go up to a Saints fan in the queue outide and ask if they need a GA seat? You'll lose a lil bit as the tix are only $18.00-ish on the night..but at least you'll get most of your money back

Sheesh the public education on this kind of thing is appalling. I'm lucky enough to have a very very patient and understanding contact insode ES, whove Ive pestered waytoo much over the last cpl of weeks..but..without her Id have NO idea of whats happening

Oh..and theres only 100-ish GA tix left..after that unless you are a 11g Carlton / 16g St Kilda member, you'll need to buy a standing room ticket

Hope this helps to clear up some of the confusion

thanks saints66au and thank your contact-- it did seem odd to me

but each time we think we've got the ticket manual under control they add a page

or they will change the deals and we learn new routines :?

I wonder how strictly the attendants will be stopping standing room ticket holders from just taking one of the GA seats on level 3. Reinforces the notion of getting there early, or getting one of your gang there early to do the old scarf trick.

But I agree that it is pretty hopeless that after so much misinformation from Ticketmaster, the AFL and, alas, the club, die hards have been left in the dark for so long.

Thanks HEAPS for that saint66au

I've been scratching my head for that one for a while now and that bugs me. i didn't think I'd get there early enough to guarantee a seat so I bought one to be safe.

I didn't think it was necessary but you know what they say - better safe than sorry. lol

What a waste of $30 though!

Ah well, will be worth it to see us record win 12 ina row (and win 12 in a row! lol)

Many thanks for the info saint66au.

We'll know next time.

My fear was that they could sell all the seats from under us and all members could effectivley be gazzumped.

If anyone needs a ticket I've got a spare. I'll be getting there early to make sure I can scan in with my membership card, so if you're really stuck and want to meet me there send me a PM.

5 prelims in 7 years. 40 wins from 49 games.
2009 and 2010 were 2 of the 5 best years ever by the St.Kilda FC.
Thanks for all your efforts Saints.

I went down to Ticketmaster at EH earlier and the girl there told me something similar. All the reserved seats sold, so get there early etc. I forgot to ask her - do the gates open at 17:30?

I'm even more confused.
So if I turn up to Tickemaster at ES tomorrow at 9am with one AFL club support and 3 x 16 games tickets, will I be able to buy general admission seats?
Like everything in life these days nothing is simple including wanting to watch your side play football.

So if you have 16 game membership there is no need to buy a General Admission ticket? Is that correct?

In that case if any 16 game membership ticket holders have purchased 4 general admission tickets, I shall gladly purchase the general admission for an even $100, as long as I can get hold of the tickets by 5pm Friday.

That is correct..if ES/TM declare that all GA tiz are sold..they have allowed for a pre-determined number (and no I dont know what that number is) of walk up card-scanning Members. Your job is to be early enough to not allow THAT number to fill before you get there

Oh and just on the standing room tix being used for seats" issue that someone asked...there are most likely going to be ushers at every L3 Aisle (as the Level is a mix of GA and reserved seats) and they will check to make sure you have a GA seat ticket before allowing you to find a seat.

Great work from saint66au.

But this is a disgrace and a shambles.
We shouldn't have to rely on the detective work of one of our own.

Either or all of the AFL, StKFC and Jihad Stadium should be making this information public.

Saint66au,

Thanks for all of the information. It's a great help.

He's no fool, he told me Docklands has NEVER sold out, get there early and you'll be ok. Saved me $70. :)

Cheers again saints66au... and barks4eva.
I'm not sure where he got that information, all tickets (including standing room tickets) ran out over 1 hour before the Essendon vs Hawthorn game started a few weeks ago. That is by any definition a sell out.

Just had to clarify that point because people might read that and think they can turn up with their 16 game memberships or wanting to buy a GA ticket at any time tomorrow night and get it. As Saint66au has said, there is a certain number of tickets available for Carlton and St Kilda (away) members. Therefore get there early.

I am a 11 game Carlton member, yesterday i went to the Ticketmaster site and got my membership bar code scanned and given an allocated seat on level 3 in bay 32 for the price of the booking fee ($3.60). This is what we were told to do. There are some bays on level 3, 35-37 reserved for Carlton members but you are not guaranteed entry. There is only a small section on level 3 for walk up members and general admission. The way you are guaranteed to get in is to pre purchase a general admission ticket but then you are paying twice. There are so many problems with ticketing as we all know and there is not enough comunication. We are now being told that the round 13 game against Essendon at the MCG will probably be sold out and to upgrade to seats as the MCG sell bays on demand and the game can be sold out and no walk ups on the night.

Cheers, AOK, no worries, as Michael wrote they keep a certain amount available for the home teams members and our 17 game memberships and providing you get there early, it's all hunky dory
