TICKET / SEATING UPDATE FOR FRIDAY NIGHT!!!!

Post: # 755333Post saint66au »

Ive just spoken to ES..tickets are selling like hotcakes for the game Friday night..far faster than anticipated

It now looks like the Eastern (city) side of the ground will be mainly reserved seating, whilst the Docklands side behind the first 6 rows will be walk-up (inc the MW area Aisles 13/14)

They recommend that, even if you only want Gen Adm (walk-up) tix that you pre-purchase them prior to arrivng at the ground, as they may well be sold out by then!!

The front 6 rows of Level 3 are totally sold out right around the ground.

Can someone who prefers to sit by the fence at the footy care to explain what it is they like about it?

To each their own, of course, but if given a choice I'd much rather the nose-bleeds.

Does that mean they're reserved seats?

I got Gen Admin with no reserved seats, guessing we cant sit there?

Thats correct..my understanding is that the front 6 rows of every level 3 bay are now sold out

If you want to be among Saints fans...come to Aisle 13/14 but be early!!!

having the play right up there, espcially at the dome it's bloody close. You can hear them yell at each other, see the skills in close and when you see a great goal or mark it's well worth it. I feel so far away when sitting upstairs but thats life.

There have been no reserve seats available since Monday. I have been looking Tuesday and today to see if they release any other reserve seats - no luck so far.

Mmmm
I'm confused by this saint66au.
It is NOT a ticketed game.
Yet you are saying GA tickets may be sold out by Friday.
Doesn't that effectively make it a ticketed game?
I assumed that as long as you turned up at a reasonable time on match day you could always buy GA tickets for a non ticketed game.

I was planning to turn up at 5:15 to buy tickets and be in line when the gates open at 5:30 to grab the best GA seats available.

Do I need to pre-buy and then still turn up early to claim a good seat?

there is a small sentence adjoining General admission and away game memberships>

" subject to availability"

which means that if the seating is general admission it's first in best dressed or best seated. yes arriving at 5 for 5.30 entrance will get you a better seat than arriving at 6.30- standing will be possible :)

given the way tickets have sold then for safety / security in knowing you will get a seat-- then prebooking would be best.

given that alll available " reserveed seats" have sold by 3 days before the game - then it's a fair bet that it will attract a fair crowd-
all reserved seating includes- all level 1
all level 2
and all of first 6 rows of level 3
so best you can be sure of is something beyond row F on level 3

I suppose an all ticketed game could be referred to as reserved seat plus limited standing room tickets game.

The difference is that with Friday's game you are not forced to pay a premium to attend. The corollary is that if you turn up on Friday at 6pm you may not get in if all (or what ever the magic number is of) general admission tickets have been sold. Whether the "system" has such a number in its memory bank I don't know. Has there been a non reserved ticket game when they have stopped selling general admission tickets?

And general admission does not guarantee a seat. It certainly does not guarantee a good seat, but that is the same for every game, even last Saturday's.

My advice, get a GA ticket through Ticketmaster and turn up early enough to get a reasonable seat. On the other hand, if you don't care where you sit, come ten minutes before the game, having pre purchased a GA ticket.

UNBELIEVABLE!!!

saints.com.au has some TIMELY advice on the official website, for an AWAY game.

What is the world coming to???

Carlton ticketing information

1:46 PM Wed 10 June, 2009

Round 12 ticketing info

Please be advised that Friday night's game against Carlton is NOT a fully ticketed game (contrary to the members email sent this week) however going from current sales, there is a strong possibility that this game could sell out. All Level 1 and 2 seats have sold out!

With this in mind we would advise all members to pre-book for this match. As this is our Away match, only 16 game members have an entry entitlement but these members are still advised to book. You can only pre-book through Ticketmaster by one of the following ways:

1. At any Ticketmaster outlet
2. Online at www.ticketmaster.com.au
3. Over the phone on 13 61 00

Members wishing to attend this game have the following options:

1. Pre-purchase a general admission ticket from Ticketmaster for the unreserved areas on Level 3 which are located in the pockets and behind the goals, 11 game members must pay the full price and 16 game members pay the booking fee only. (this will guarantee our members entry on the night should the game be a sell out)
2. Pre-purchase from Ticketmaster a Level 3 daily reserved seat on the wing, 11 game members pay the full price and 16 game members pay the booking fee only. (This will guarantee our members entry on the night should the game be a sell out)
3. 16 game members can take their chances and scan their membership card on the night for Level 3 unreserved general admission (entry subject to capacity). Alternatively, 11 game members can also take a chance on match day by purchasing a general admission ticket at the venue (again, subject to capacity).

there was a game against gellong a few years ago- before ticketmaster and the stadium had become alittle cleverer

that was not decalred 'all ticket'- but was declared a sell out about an hour or so before the game

people travelling from more than an hour and on public transport- so already enroute had not purchased tickets and thus Could not get in- soem evenatually found seats from people near the ground with spares- but others juist had to 'fill time' as they waited for return transport.

since then I have always advised- be sure rather than sorry - even if it costs you $5.

unless your happy to go and do some shopping or have a nice meal somewhere... fuinding a pub with the game on

BTW
where is the nearest venue to the Stdaium which would be showing the game?

Any pub/place with a TV that can pick up channel 7!!!

Seriously, if the game is a sellout, you'd be able to watch it live on big screen located outside Gate 3 of the ground.

once levels1 and 2 are looking sold- it's going to be a big game.

and again as I;m usually in the ground I've never been sure where nearby has it showing- Would it also be delayed to?

5 prelims in 7 years. 40 wins from 49 games.
2009 and 2010 were 2 of the 5 best years ever by the St.Kilda FC.
Thanks for all your efforts Saints.

So basically, if all gen admin tickets are sold -> no entry with 16 game membership?

Thanks to everyone for the advice.

Just purchased 4 GA tickets.
So that gives me peace of mind.

Now just have to turn up 5:30 to secure a reasonable seat.

Thanks again :D :D

Sorry to sound so confused, but did you buy 4 full price ($22.60) general admission tickets? Or you were able to just reserve them with a booking fee?

owts,
just bought a family ticket(s) for $50.70.
I used the "pick-up" option rather than the printout as I once had a problem with ticketmaster whereby my workplace security assumed the e-mail with the ticket info to printout was spam !!!!

So I will front up to TM tomorrow with my order number and claim my physical GA tickets.

I was just confused with people saying you only needed to pay $5 booking fee, as I have not been able to find any tickets online for a couple of days now. So if we want a seat we have to pay, that's fine with me....I just needed to clarify it.

Thanks EM
