Saints Record at Docklands
So the name's changed a couple of times, but we've been tenants since the ground opened and have played the most games there. But is it Fortress Docklands for the Saints?
Overall (before this season) 111 games for 62-3-46 - that's 55.9% wins. Not so amazing.
But what we have to take into account is that for the first three years playing there we were horrible. Have a look season by season:
2000: 13 games for 2-1-10 = 15.4%
2001: 12 games for 2-0-10 = 16.7%
2002: 13 games for 4-1-8 = 30.8%
2003: 11 games for 8-0-3 = 72.7%
2004: 12 games for 12-0-0 = 100.0%
2005: 12 games for 8-0-4 = 66.7%
2006: 11 games for 8-0-3 = 72.7%
2007: 13 games for 8-1-4 = 61.5%
2008: 14 games for 10-0-4 = 71.4%
So that means that in the last six years at Docklands we've played 73 games for 54-1-18 which is 74.0%. So we're up to the point where we win three out of four games at Docklands. That's pretty good!
For comparison, this is how the rest of our games in those years went.
2000: 9 games for 0-0-9 = 0.0%
2001: 10 games for 2-0-8 = 20.0%
2002: 9 games for 1-0-8 = 11.1%
2003: 11 games for 3-0-8 = 27.3%
2004: 10 games for 4-0-6 = 40.0%
2005: 10 games for 6-0-4 = 60.0%
2006: 11 games for 6-0-5 = 54.5%
2007: 9 games for 3-0-6 = 33.3%
2008: 8 games for 3-0-5 = 37.5%
Overall, away from Docklands that's 87 games for 28-0-59 = 32.2%, or in the last six years it's 59 games for 25-0-34 = 42.4%.
So you can read these figures two ways. Either we're really good at home or we're really bad away. Which is it?

I would think that would be about what we'd expect. I wouldn't mind 3 out of every 4 Docklands game, seeing as many of those would be against co-tennants who we don't have any real advantage over etc.
Only 40% of away wins isn't as bad as it seems as many teams (apart from the top teams like Geelong) can expect to win only half of interstate trips if they do well.
Of course if we are serious about performing well you would want both those percentages about the 70% mark to put you at the pointy end of the table.
Take note also that in the past 6 years there have been some very good interstate sides that we've had to play, like Sydney, Port and West Coast in their premiership years, and Freo when they actually made the 4. And of course we always struggle against Port at AAMI and Freo at Subiaco.
Not concern but would hope this years figures are better.

What it shows is that
- we played hopelessly at Colonial Stadium,
- but after the move to Telstradome we improved significantly,
- and with a 2-0 record to date it looks like the decision to Bombers at The Jihad is looking like another winner.
But I wonder where we will move to next ?

The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.

I posted this a couple of months ago and people thought I was crazy. I thought we should object to the change of name because we had played so well at Telstra Dome.Enrico_Misso wrote:What it shows is that

3-0 at the moment. I'd be happy to admit I was wrong.
