from memory lockett kicked seven if it's the game i'm thinking of.

a very young alastair lynch was switched on to him after half time and kept big tony a lot quieter in the second half.

Also saw a young Jimmy Wynd coming off the half back flank for Fitzroy.

Just switched over to the St.Kilda v Melbourne 1988 video...

I forgot how pure Lockett's kicking style was... beautiful.

how about that blind turn? i was there that day and that little passage of play has always stuck in my mind.

he kicked a bag, but there were so many of them; can't remember whether it was eight, 10 or 12.

The way he guides the ball onto his boot is perfect. Textbook. Not much can go wrong when you drop the ball down like that. Not much did.

Compare it to Roo and the height at which he drops the ball down and it's clear to see why Rooey can shank his fair share.
