Dal Santo and Milne Stats

Post: # 592759Post the shadow »

Just heard the official stats for the scorps today on SEN. Dal Santo 23 possessions, 4 tackles and 0 goals 6 behinds. Makes you wonder which game some other posters on here were watching today. Especially the ones who had Dal getting only 6-8 possessions. The goal kicking is still a worry!

Milne 25 possessions and 4 goals. Mark Fine /Fein? gave the stats in case anyone is wondering.

Yeah I just posted those stats in the other thread. I think there are some sort of sgenda's going on. Either that or they are brain dead, on drugs, or both. Or turned up at the wrong game.

now Dal has had his hair cut and was wearing #17 maybe confusion,

I know when I've been to VFL games it can be difficult to see on the opposite side of each ground,- especially in the differant colours

Sounds like they are both "on track".

I think Dal will definitely come in, and certainly if Lenny misses.

Milne may have another week to wait, as his reputation for not travelling well seems to based on solid evidence.

Milne is just a player...would not be getting a game at any of the top 6 clubs. Dalsanto is all class but still has a lot to learn...would also have been dropped by any of the top 6 teams

We were going on the information we had, which was multiple reports from the game saying the same thing, 0 tackles, <10 possessions.

but that would be more like Saying to Harvs take a week off- would not be of value to have him fight for space on a VFL field
Grant is being nursed to 300

Want/Need Dal back - possessions never the problem - tackles/desperation/commitment were!
If he didn't show the above will still be at Casey next week!
Hope he's back on track & is in the team soon!!

thats why some of us were waiting for an actual reliable report before declaring he was no good/soft/uninterested/weak/useless

Milne, Dal do enough to earn recall

Chris Mitchell | June 23, 2008 12:00am

ST KILDA stars Nick Dal Santo and Stephen Milne got their hands dirty in the VFL yesterday, playing pivotal roles in Casey's 53-point win against Coburg.

Dropped for the first time this season for Friday night's game against Fremantle at Telstra Dome, both put up their hands for an instant recall to the Saints' side for Saturday night's game against North Melbourne at Carrara with impressive performances.

Milne, who played forward and in the midfield, was particularly damaging, booting four goals from 23 disposals to be best afield, while Dal Santo played onball and shrugged off a heavy tag from Coburg's Nick Carnell to finish with 11 kicks and eight handballs.

While Dal Santo refused to talk to the media, Milne said he was happy to find form in wet and slippery conditions at Coburg City Oval.

"It was a bit of a mud-heap but it was good to have a win," the 28-year-old said.

"It was pretty tough out there. It reminded me of the good old junior days in the mud. It was real (tough) footy and it was good to get a run on the ball and . . . get on the end of a couple."

Asked what his role for the game was, Milne said: "To get amongst it."

Scorpions coach Greg Hutchison said he was pleased with the tackling and defensive pressure of both players.

"I thought Dal Santo and Milne both presented themselves very well," he said.

"I thought their attitude was fantastic and their work-rate was great. We just wanted them to play with a fair bit of effort and intensity, and they both showed that.

"I thought Nick's last quarter was really good. He worked really hard, made some good tackles and put himself in the contest, which is what we asked him to do."

you wouldn't have thought that from the earlier reports we were getting on here

good to see them doing what was needed, and will be even better to see them back in the firsts next week
