Team Changes

Post: # 572325Post saints_rule23 »

Team Changes are:

IN: Riewoldt, Geary, Jones, Fiora

OUT: Gehrig, R.Clarke, C.Gardiner, Armitage

Can't believe Armitage has been dropped must be injured or something!

Thanks for that.

Does that mean Mini misses out too? Hope he gets to play the VFL-SA(N)FL game.

Armitage out! I can't beleive it...sure;y he's better than Geary or Fiora. If we're not winning a flag lets at least pump the games into these boys. If he is injured I hope he's back soon.

correct....

I hope it was because he was feeling some ill affect from the knock last week,

if dropped on form then disgraceful.

I'm happy with all the changes bar one...Fiora shouldn't be played before Fergie. He's been really good in the two's and deserves a chance. He'd be ideal in a forward line that lacks defensive pressure.

Other than that, it looks like we're throwing caution to the wind a bit...good move. Maybe we'll come home with a good win and a better idea of who has the courage to play tough and bold footy.

GO SAINTS!!!!!!!!!

Will be absolutely disgusted if Armitage is out for any other reason than injury.
And Fiora FFS. Am getting so tired of recycling these guys through the team who have had zillions of chances to cement a spot and keep on letting us down. Am losing faith fast in Lyon and his team if Armitage is out for any reason other than injury.

Armitage....very very stiff.

Love his goal work.....but his total possessons were low.

Basically what he does he does well...just needs to do it more.

What the f. Do they even watch the ressies games? Or our games for that matter? Fiora in and Armitage out is a disgrace. Fiora in for 99% of our list is a disgrace. He was squibbing away last weekend, not getting into contests and waiting for a cheap one out the back. He worries too much about what he's doing, whether it looks pretty (ie taking hangers, kicking long goals from 50) and not doing the very basics.

I am very upset right now.

What does Fergo need to do? How disheartened do we make him, considering they reward mediocrity to Fiora

Fiora is 27 years old and not in our best 11. Not even in our best 25 in my opinion and maybe just scraping in to the 30. Why are we giving him games and not a kid who might climb the ladder? We are 4-4 and not all that likely to challenge for a flag - and even if we do, it's not like Fiora will make any more difference than Armo/McQualter/Ferguson - exactly what value is there in giving an ordinary bloke games who might only run round for another few years?

If FIORA gets a game ~

Post: # 572365Post WinnersOnly »

If FIORA gets a game Ross LYON and his match commitee should be sacked immediately following their loss to Brisbane... Talk about reward inept performances. But perhaps that what the SAINTS did when the employed LYON in the first place.

If FIORA gets a game in front of ARMITAGE, FERGUSSON and McQUALTER guys who actually have a go - the SAINTS have lost mine and my families membership for the term LYON is coach!

18 months and I am sick of this backward thinking f..k already!

armos possies match his game time....not enough! im losing the faith with the current coach and group of players. cant understand the persistance with playing players who continue to fail. we play raph he fails, replace him with fiora then bring back raph. there is no faith in our list, why not give ferg half a dozen games, blood allen or steven, reward mcqualter or most importantly keep armo in!!

Well after watching the last Casey game...Fiora being an in certainly surprised me.

This would be you woud assume be his last chance.....

However with both he and CJ in the team is a bit quicker....but I am not that pleased about losing Armo....

If Armitage is fit to play then that's a disgrace that he got dropped.

What exactly did Fiora do to get a recall. Did nothing last week.

Jones at least has earned his spot back in the team after 2 BOG's in the VFL. But is not ahead of Armitage.

Am happy that Geary is back though.

The real squib is Ross Lyon, he obviously doesn't trust our new brigade, and went back to Fiora on the basis of last year's form guide, not current form in the magoos.

Overall, the INS have some pace which we desperately lack.

Fiora better bloody well extract the digit or he may as well have an extended holiday in Brisbane.

Great to see that RL has topped up 22 with blokes who can win the contested footy, this is one area that we are struggling in ATM.....Geary, Jones and Fiora will help in this area.

bizzare,

fergs career is over then.

Bloody disgrace, another we will watch get delisted and wonder "what if". Seriously how fiora gets a game ahead of more in form players is a disgrace.

I bloody well hope armo has an illness or injury because this selection has lost me!

We needed pace

Lions have a great midfield with a lot of depth and an ok backline

their forward line only have 2 talls, lets win it in the middle and give our forwards plenty of chances

will be an exciting game, we are going in with an attacking team from the middle which is good

armitage is a 2nd year player

its the responsibility of the coach and hte management to ensure he plays 250 games not 20

no doubt they are resting him because of the stresses on his body

one problem with our brilliant start in 2004 was the young bodies were worn out by mid season

I would hope this is a case of 'managing' armitage

don't forget late last year folks were demanding he be traded for a round 3 draft because he hadn't done anything.

I would think and hope this is 'long term' management

Don't worry, Ferg is playing because Roo won't be...its too obvious, who does Ross think he's fooling?

How does Jones get a game before Mini?

I don't subscribe to this rest Armo garbage.
How many games has Rioli been rested for this year, what about Selwood, he's missed a few as well hasn't he...

Excuses, just excuses....but hey keep playing Dempster and Schneider, who would have been lucky to have an effective stat between them last week....

Absolutely spewing...

don't underestimate goal work.

one reason i'd much prefer amitage to fiora is that he appears to know where the goals are while fiora is clueless in this department.
