Grant Thomas was right
Milne is useless, should have traded him, if Thomas was still here Milne would be long gone and we wouldn't have to put up with his insipid efforts.
damn you Lyon for taking him off the trade table
and damn you Lyon for playing him in the forwardline
we all know Milne is a midfielder, why would you even think of playing him anywhere other than there
Milne is a liability and we have Lyon to blame for him still being here, Thomas had him gone already

If Stephen Milne could lock that level of intensity and effort up and bring it out every game day, both his fortunes and the teams would be dramatically enhanced. For the record I thought you were magnificent Milney – now for the Pies.

Grant Thomas ................a leading authority on all things AFL.
Fair Dinkum, has the comedy festival started early this year.
Anyway according the "leading authority on all things AFL" Milne should be played in teh midfield and better still have been traded away for a bag of jelly beans.

I guess give Gt some credit for trying something different with Milney, remember that year Bally wasnt 20% fit, Lenny had his injuries and Harves cant play all game. Monty was our most consistent performer in the centre.
Milne was getting found out as hes play is very predicable down forward so maybe a spell in the centre made other teams forget how dangerous he can be.

Sorry Barks, i missed what you said - Rix is a Dud? Yes, I agree!
Milne has played his whole career under Grant Thomas, and stood by him during his and Montagna's issues with the law.
Seriously Barks, you are a tool.
Milne would not be playing AFL today if it was not for Grant Thomas giving him opportunities at the highest level, and for instilling in him a more team orientated game - i.e doing 1%ers and setting goals up for teammates.

---- and of course R Harvey continues to embarrass with his 26 possessions and 2 goals. Breaking tackles - delivering precisely, doing the team things. Being the heart and soul.
How disappointing!

Harvey is just another useless liability that we have to put up withmbogo wrote:---- and of course R Harvey continues to embarrass with his 26 possessions and 2 goals. Breaking tackles - delivering precisely, doing the team things. Being the heart and soul.

I blame Ross Lyon, Thomas wanted him exited out two years ago
As for having to watch M.Gardiner in the ruck last night, it shytes me no end, Thomas said he wouldn't have touched him with a barge pole, but yet again Lyon goes and picks up another dud
Milne, Harvey and M.Gardiner three liabilities that wouldn't have been running around in last night's team, if the "leading authority on all things AFL" had of had his way
Ross Lyon you have a lot to answer for, your judgement is at odds with the "leading authority on all things AFL", Milne is useless should have been traded, Harvey is a now a liability and should have been exited two years ago and M.Gardiner has never recieved a Nobel Peace prize nomination, served as a UN ambassador or meditated in cave with Shaolin buddhist monks and therefore should never have been drafted to begin with.

oh you mean in 2006 when we lost to 3 of the top 4 teamsThe Fireman wrote:
When we used to win games convincingly
Adelaide by 63 points at the dome
West Coast by 39 points at the dome

yeah we were really convincing back then
but I'm sure we'd would have been much more convincing last night if we didn't have duds like Milne, Harvey and M.Gardiner running around
The leading authority on all things AFL would have seen to that, I blame Ross Lyon

Yeah GT wasn't perfect but was a good coach, with a great attacking game plan, just because GT wiped you , you shouldn't really hold a grudge for so long and let it cloud your thought process.barks4eva wrote:oh you mean in 2006 when we lost to 3 of the top 4 teamsThe Fireman wrote:

Re: Grant Thomas was right
Lyon was not at the club when Milne was removed from trade talks. The board removed him from negotiations.barks4eva wrote:Milne is useless, should have traded him, if Thomas was still here Milne would be long gone and we wouldn't have to put up with his insipid efforts.

GT was seeking a pick between 18-26 for a specific player trade. (the pick from Essendon)
Didn't happen.
Not worth waiting 18 months to post a thread of #44 support either.
He's been playing well for a while.
