Ditto, I'm not one to take away from the work the CS does but that was a shocking banner :?

Means little but still a bit of a shame.

I was at the Coventry End when our cheer squad started to come out, I didn't know who they were, I thought there was about to be a tribute to Dental Technicians.

Would like to see them in the tri-colours, just my opinion, no offence intended or should be taken.

I'm very concious of trying not to bag the CS anymore, they do alot of work on thier own time for our club.

But seriously, that was hands down the most ridiculous, under 8's, Play School looking banner I have ever seen. It was, truly, incredibly embarassing.

And, by the way, where was the noise when the game was tight? Never heard from you at all after the first siren.

I know you should demand a certain level of respect., but by and large you need to earn respect and you have miserably failed recently.

Unfortunately the age and gender of the majority of those sitting in the cheer squad makes it very hard to make noise. I've taken a look and its mostly young teens and older women. This not only means we fail to make noise, but it also holds no attraction for the young- middle aged men and women to join and start making some noise.
Support from the cheer squad was desperately needed last night but without the criteria to make the sound it's not going to happen.
The question is how do you attract the 18-30 year old loud- voice men (and ladies) when your persuasion is 13 or 40-50 year old females? (I'm talking majority).
The cheer squad is trying their best, sure, but reality is it's soft and i don't see any motivation for change.

I also don't like hanging it on the CS bcos I don't go down and help out.

When it started getting unfurled I thought - Southpark theme, this may lead somewhere.

It was held up and I saw what it said - then it became clear that on the other side was going to be the inspirational message for the game.

Then I saw the other side....

Then I saw the first side again....

Then I tried to figure out who the remotely-Southparkish caricatures related to....

And I couldn't....

And I'm now typing like stinger....

Sort of....

Anyway on a side note Dools, were you out holding up the banner?

It would be nice to see the CS who do hard work look like they are part of a professional modern club, not a relic of the 80's. The Club might want to consider increasing the resources made available to the CS and what the banner and CS members could be used for in terms of branding and advertising.
