Ball winning midfielder who can rack up the footy around the packs and has reasonable skills.
Not a silky player and often goes unnoticed, but will generate a lot of forward play for his team.
Not injury prone either.
It all depends on the price, but he is a good player.
BTW, crannypete, for all his humour, actually has a few reasonable contacts, so don't be suprised if there is more to this than it seems.

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

Would he add something that we've been lacking? One thing he is though is a ball magnet. Even if he's having an ordinary day can still find a lot of the ball and win plenty of clearances. Could be handy at the right price, but would like to see us go for a pacy midfielder/wingman!
The Saints are coming!

A bit of background:
Haselby is believed to be on around 400k per year (signed after his AA year in '03), and is out of contract at the end of 2007.
Apparently the Dockers have only offered him 250k, as they are concerned about his:
- Lack of leadership around the club
- On-going back condition that he has managed for his career, plus OP which kept him out for parts of 05 and 06.
- A couple of weight issues which seem to have been sorted
This was one Fremantle supporter's summation of Haselby:
They are still unable to reach terms with him, and Dockers supporters are split 50/50 between letting him go at the right price (due to above issues), or keeping him because of his experience and ability.

Usually good to excellent. Consistent. Skills good. Very slow. Creative. Not a seagull. Gets the nut a lot. Handy overhead. Cool under pressure.

Is a solid player, would be only worth a third round pick though imo. Would be more interested in a player like Schammer or Peake who would add more to our team with their pace.
Trust the Midas Touch

Oh just what we need, another pedestrian paced midfielder
Lance or James??

You want pace?
Get Haselby and then allow Dal Santo to play more of an outside role, and use his evasive skills to advantage. Ditto Joey.
You have to be able to win the footy ... doesn't matter how fast you are, you must find the ball.
Haselby would be a positive move for us at the right price.
