I reckon Peter Wright might be a better option get the feeling after a good first year seems down the pecking order at Ess. Might work ok with King and ruck cutout for Roma

And if Marshall gets injured????
Campbell is gone, that leaves Heath who may or may not make it.
So clearly AA calibre ruckman or not, we need another ruck on our list.
Having Marshall just means that we will not waste the resources to get in a very good ruck, who would not join us anyway.
We either need a very capable ruck forward, or a back up No1 ruck.
The Club is most likely sniffing around to see who might be available, and at what trade cost. Most likely they will not want to expend much in trade resources fora back up ruck. Would be preferable though if it is a younger guy who still have an upside. That may or may not be Reeves who strikes me more as back up only.

I can't believe how many s*** players people claim there are in the Ay Eff Ell.
How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

Re: Ned Reeves- Hawks ruck (208 cm)
There are two types of AFL ruckmen
1/ Good players who would get a game if they were 180-195
2/ those that are only getting an AFL game because they are 200+

Re: Ned Reeves- Hawks ruck (208 cm)
He is a very old school ruckman who is out of the contest once ball hits ground. His tap work is good but should probably be better given his size. I think there is potentially better options out there (see Soldo, pinnot), there’s also probably plenty of hidden talents floating around in the state leagues. Teams generally have a bit of success drafting ready made mature age rucks from these leagues, although we haven’t previously (Hunter).
The one I would absolutely be pushing hard for is Nick Bryan, he’s a future AA and absolutely tore Cambpell to shreds in the VFL game at Windy Hill. Building a very similar profile to Xerri who we were also very close to getting before he started getting a regular game a few years ago.

Bryan would be good - at the right cost
We honestly can’t afford to give up too much draft capital
