Liam Henry
I keep banging on about the fact we are NOT using him correctly
Ross seems to think he is a small forward - he’s not - he’s a winger/mid
He played forward in his early days at Freo and was underwhelming
Moved to the wing and averaged 25 a game
Shifted him up the ground in the last - and surprise surprise be gave us drive
USE his leg speed up the ground in space!!!!
Don’t confine him to the f50

It's a false narrative though.
Prior to his injury he was playing onball for us and since he came back has spent increasing time there week on week.

Re: Liam Henry
Ahh, but he knows all, just ask him, well don''t bother, he said he has more talent than anyone, clearly excluding those that made it to the top level.nostalgicsaint wrote: ↑Fri 14 Jun 2024 11:37pmYou keep banging on about it. he makes a lot of good comments though so he's not a bad dude.
How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

Re: Liam Henry
He doesn't have that goal freek-ness that a lot of indigenous have. He is a runner.
Much better out on wing. Off half back. Speed and run.
He doesn't seem to get in the right spots for goal snaps.
Maybe Ross is hoping that he can use his speed and agility.
I just don't think the goal hunger and raw goal sence can be coached. You either have it or you don't.

Re: Liam Henry
See Liam kicked twice as many as the country road dude. So goal sense not too bad, set up a few chances. Of course we kept CC quiet which is something we don't usually manage. Raynor continues to be a large thorn, but.repta wrote: ↑Sat 15 Jun 2024 12:47am He doesn't have that goal freek-ness that a lot of indigenous have. He is a runner.

Re: Liam Henry
He hasn't got close to the level of attack on the ball and and want to hunt the ball relentlessly like he did against tbe Pies.
Hopefully what he bought to the Pies game is something we see on a regular basis.
He's a confidence player unfortunately and that's going to lead to inconsistency.
His last quarter last night was better.
