Webster was well beaten by Long tonight

Slipping over constantly

He’s a good player but I think we need to find a better one

Arie is worth a go but Webster might not be finished just yet.

That said… I agree with the premise

Long had 10 and a goal was being pumped up for chasing people.

I really haven’t liked the look of him in the games he’s played this year.

Unaccountable, slow, really bad decision making, doesn’t get much ball

He looks done to me :(

Shots on goal not withstanding IMO Long was their only forward that looked dangerous. 10% more good fortune, he had 10 touches, 3 goals and 3-4 goal assists

Webster is still OK. Certai ly there is worse on the saints list.

Joe Biden moves better than Membrey. He is cooked.
Need to get Crouch in for Ross asap. Need to keep Ross around as Clarke is made of bone china and he is sitting in that shop with a bull in it.

Ross and Skunk are thoroughly cooked. Jimmy can still play a role to a reasonable level but I'd prefer that we give Paton a month in the seniors to see if he can still play the small defender role and potentially earn another contract. Agree that there's not much point in playing Webster since finals are off the table.

Jimmy can still play - absolutely

He’s 31yo and not a part of our next finals team.

Stocker or Paton or McLennan or O’Connoll might be?

O.P. is correct.

Membrey is a shadow of himself, concrete hands now.

Ross, just honest toiler , now.

Webster, father time has really caught up, still
courageous and tough, but dexterity has dropped. Got destroyed by Breust, and now a B grader in Long.

Paton, maybe, but Stocker or Hastie will take his spot.

And at years end Jones.

No further upside to him. Cut him loose and move on. Go to the draft.

Same with Campbell although a cracking VFL player can he give us something at AFL level. Unfortunately depth only.

Heath looking a prospect.

Long got 4 tackles, 10 disposals, meanwhile Flanders got 2 tackles, 42 disposals but no praise for his effort.

In a low scoring match if someone is responsible for close to half your goals, that's significant.

Long kicked 1 himself and had a hand in two others. 2 goal Assists are worth at least 10 junk possessions sideways.

Remember the goal by Touk Miller that put Gold Coast in front with 7 minutes to play?

It was Long at the bottom of the pack who somehow found a gap in the mayhem and tapped the ball into the danger zone.

That's not considered a contested possession or disposal, but his coach and his team mates know the value of that tap

Why are so many fans obsessed after a win with bagging individual players and demanding they be cut? AFL clubs have big lists nowadays: what’s more important is who we can recruit, not who we cut

I reckon Webster and Ross could conceivably go round another year. Membrey isn’t looking too hot ATM but if dropping him means bringing Sharman back, I’d rather stick with Tim.

He might even take a mark

Big lists?
Lists have shrunk since the good old days.
If Seb, Tim and JWeb are way past their best, we need to say 'thanks heaps for your loyalty' but we replace em with 18 y.o. guys with big upside and potential
