Re: RTB's Presser today
Sounds like your wedding night…
I lasted much longer - full 8mins
Thought he was honest as usual
Didn’t throw players under a bus like Ratten
Worth a listen
If you’re a hater type …probably don’t bother

“Didn’t see that coming…” what’s he been watching the last 10 weeks?!

Re: RTB's Presser today
Sincs was interviewed by Saints TV on youtube.
He looked stunned, just trotted out the same empty phrases that we've heard before.
Steele said the same thing after Doggies game.
Sincs repeated himself twice as if to reinforce in his own mind, as he has lost the plot.
The entire team is fractured, disjointed, they are not a team, they're a rabble.
They're not thinking of themselves as a cohesive group- they're a collection of individuals with nothing in common but the same colour guernseys.
And it shows.
No support, no idea of how to work together.
It's frightening.
And we'll see next week in Perth when Harley Reid gets 3 goals and 25 possies, and we get our @rses handed to us
A real Sainter will pledge allegiance to the ❤ and despise the Pies, the Blues, and the Injectors.

Sincs apparently playing with plantar fasciitis in both feet…could be thinking about that?WellardSaint wrote: ↑Mon 27 May 2024 1:18amSincs was interviewed by Saints TV on youtube.

Sick of dud excuses for poor players (that’s not Sincs btw) but the rest know who they are

Re: RTB's Presser today
I really shouldn't watch these pressers, I keep expecting answers but get nothing.
The biggest cop out was injuries. Especially after the club went to lengths to broadcast a 2 man injury list. Even a fully fit Butler and Crouch do not make the difference in today's side (Butler 1 goal at VFL level). Also, Jones was dropped and available so can't be considered a reason.
These press conferences are an opportunity to reach out to fans and members to explain where the club is at, and we got rubbish about not expecting Melbourne to come out strong in the first quarter (after losing to West Coast last week), excuses about injuries, stats about games 3 weeks ago, and general plaudits to the opposition.

Can't fault players for struggling in the media. It's hard to take a read from that interview.WellardSaint wrote: ↑Mon 27 May 2024 1:18amSincs was interviewed by Saints TV on youtube.

Re: RTB's Presser today
That comment bothers me. How could he say "Didn't see that coming"? Seriously, what did he expect. They have been in the 8 all year and just off a defeat. Thats a worry to me.

Re: RTB's Presser today
He certainly doesn’t look happy in the coach’s box, but he’s got another two seasons after this one to turn it around. Let’s hope he is up for the fight.
I’m all for getting games into kids - where deserved - but I reckon he’s got to start insisting on playing our best possible side for the rest of the season.
A few wins will turn around the mood of the club. Gotta give supporters some hope for the future.
This week surely Crouch, Clark, Jones and Membrey come in. Maybe Butler as well

Re: RTB's Presser today
Depends what the clubs goals are. We are certainly not challenging for a premiership in 2024, or 2025 without some huge changes.bigcarl wrote: ↑Mon 27 May 2024 10:47am He certainly doesn’t look happy in the coach’s box, but he’s got another two seasons after this one to turn it around. I would prefer we come out and publicly put the cue in the rack for 2024. Rather than load up with senior players and relive the Ratts era. Of course I'll still be disappointed in our performances but as long as we're showing effort and improvement then all is forgiven.
Crouch, Jones and Membrey won't be part of the 2026 side. So unless they offer some on field development opportunities to those alongside them, they should play in and out of VFL to help develop the next midfield group.

Re: RTB's Presser today
I’m torn. It goes against the grain for me to want to field less competitive sides than we can. I hate losing. At the same time I understand that we must develop kids.Otiman wrote: ↑Mon 27 May 2024 12:58pmDepends what the clubs goals are. Problem with a full on play the kids philosophy is that the arse completely falls out of the club and you lose fans. You become a basket case a la Norf of the past few seasons.
It’s a long way back from there and few coaches survive that journey. So I would seek a balance.
Play kid that are earning their keep in the onesies (Wilson, Windy, Owens, NWM and anyone else who is up to the level). Otherwise back to the twosies until you are up to it.

Re: RTB's Presser today
Agree he has no answers he just rolls out same bullshyte in different wording. He is sounding very much like previous coaches we have had - defeated before they even drive into the Marvel carpark.
