Philipou’s Manager
Take what we can get for him.
Just signed him so at least have an upper hand.
His manager tweeted (now deleted) that Lyon is a dud
Where there is smoke…..

f****** tool if true.
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Re: Philipou’s Manager
From what I understand Pou's manager has probably just started the beginning of the end of his career as a player manager.
More or less told the AFL world that Pou has gotten worse via a Tweet, not to mention throwing King and Owens under the bus at the same time which they will be filthy about towards Pou and his manager.
Pou has clearly made a really poor choice for his manager and that was way out of line for a player manager, irrespective of any truth to the matter because you keep that stuff out of the public.

Pou's manager has just ended his own career you'd think....magnifisaint wrote: ↑Sun 12 May 2024 10:21pmReally?Annoyedsaint wrote: ↑Sun 12 May 2024 10:19pm Take what we can get for him.

If I was Pou I'd be sacking him effective immediately and distance himself quickly.

Re: Philipou’s Manager
Regardless of manager stupidity, it’s clearly been made apparent that he’s pissed off.
As a side note, not sure what he’s be pissed off for, he’s played awful football and been gifted so many games to begin with.

Completely irrelevant regardless of what you believe. If he’s so unhappy with the coach and the club, don’t sign on! Don’t air your dirty washing on social media

Re: Philipou’s Manager
Is that the point? It’s not his place at all and a players manager effectively having a go at other young players on the team is completely out of line.
And yes, it’s also incorrect.

Re: Philipou’s Manager
Owens far better under Lyon last year than in his first season. So factually incorrect.

Re: Philipou’s Manager
Not at all, very entitled to have an opinion but to express it by throwing other players under the bus so publicly is just mind blowingly loose and amateurish for a player manager.
King and Owens will be filthy and this is the type of thing that causes friction amongst teammates. To suggest King and Owens have gone backwards really turns up the heat on them and not too many people like that kind of unwanted attention.
Pou needs to act quickly and sack his manager.

Re: Philipou’s Manager
I wonder what the point of the tweet was.
Can see a disgruntled family member being foolishly emotive, but a professional manager - how did he see it helping his client.

Re: Philipou’s Manager
Who is this manager?? What’s his name??
Surely he’s **** ?
What player would want to be associated with a half assed manager like that ????
Philipou has been gifted games by Lyon to help fast track him
He’s been played n midfield cause he thinks he’s Bontempelli
He’s mouthed off about his abilities and failed to deliver
Wilson has come in and shat all over him
Gets dropped 1 week (shoulda been weeks ago) and clearly sooked to his manager…who’s gone off half-cocked …
What amateur hour is this????
Embarrassing
If I was Mattaeus I’d announce tomorrow I now have a new manager ….or I’d be very sheepish when I show up to work …
Surely he’s **** ?

Has deleted his twitter account
He obviously knows what's coming.
Just killed his career.

Re: Philipou’s Manager
That is all ridiculously hyperbolic and the last part is pure unadulterated speculation that you’ve just thrown the word “clearly” in front of hoping people won’t notice?
A c*** manager can be a c*** all by himself. No evidence to suggest Pou complained.

Re: Philipou’s Manager
If you don’t think he’s said something to the manager then why would the manager do that?
Manager then decides to take it further without thinking.
I’d suggest that out of this Mattaes needs to realise he’s in big boy shorts now. Welcome to the professional leagues.

Re: Philipou’s Manager
Devils advocate point of view. You reap what you sow …right?
Why treat the kid like he’s a star in 2023. He wasn’t the second coming. He wasn’t Chris Judd and he certainly wasn’t the Bont
What am I talking about? The bleeding obvious of course. As soon as he had 2 or 3 bad games in 2023 he needed to be dropped
Like…don’t people at the club get it. He’s already a cocky young man. Why swell his head even more?
The other way he could have been handled would have been to schedule his breaks in 2023. Who knows, it may have kept him fresh and he may not have had such a significant form drop. He may not have had a stinker in the Elimination final. What did that game do for his confidence?
Whether his manager is an arsehole or not really doesn’t matter to me or the supporter base. We don’t give a flying f#@k about the politics between the St Kilda FC and player managers. What we’re concerned about is questions around how we develop some of our young players.
E.g. I read the ‘Sandy at Wonthaggi’ thread and many posters are criticising Collard; “poor body language, looking frustrated, making poor decisions etc…” Why is it that Collard was chosen to represent St Kilda in a seniors game? We think he has talent and he can produce for the team, don’t we? What sort of stuffed up games are we playing with his head by making him the sub and giving him 20 minutes on the ground at the end of a game and then dropping him the week after?

Sure, it’s theoretically possible. I just think dropping “clearly” in front of hypothetical speculation is disingenuous.Annoyedsaint wrote: ↑Sun 12 May 2024 11:40pmIf you don’t think he’s said something to the manager then why would the manager do that?

Re: Philipou’s Manager
Unless your last name is Philipou ….i think you’re a bit naive bud…
Me thinks Mateus does t kike being told he’s playing 2s …suspect he’s been told by dad he’s the new messiah his whole life…
Anyhoo …we’ll see how he responds - big boy pants time
Time to sack Ned Costello - sounds like some half arsed twit lawyer from The Castle…

Re: Philipou’s Manager
Timing is strange given he extended his Contract over recent days - the Manager comment after the extension was signed it seems
I would not believe the player nor any of his family are in anyway involved
Both his Grandfather and his Father are very well respected former players both with long and successful careers in the sport (his Grandfather also in Canberra across 3 seasons before returning to Thebarton and his Father also with Footscray)
