Changes for tge Richmond at Gather Round.

Obvious one, Max for either Caminiti or Sharman.
I think Hayes needs at least another one or two runs at Sandy before being considered.

Think of me long enough to make a memory.

Terrible. Not accountable at all at the moment.

As soon as Hayes is match fit, he comes in. Need someone to help out Marshall.

wtf? The Bummer prick should’ve been pinged for below the knee. He dived at the feet of Windy. Surely we appeal and it’s thrown out?

That one was worse than King's one last week as the potential to cause damage was there.
Really, really silly act by Windy. Durham has his head over the ball and Windy just chose to bump.

He tried to avoid ffs or his legs would have been taken out. Dangerous by Durham

Wow! How about using two eyes.
Durham did everything right. He turned his body to protech his head when picking up the ball. Windy elected to bump him and got him high. A tackle would have been the best option and would have forced a stoppage.

Tackle???

Durham dived head first low into on coming traffic. Windhager turns to avoid his legs being taken out.

Come on, Curly. That's just plain wrong. Durham did not dive at all. Only went to ground, post contact.
Anyway...You do you and keep on farting at thunder!

It's a tough one as our players ready to come in aren't like for like.

King comes in, but for who? Sharman was subbed out and kicked 0.2 from gettable set shots. Caminiti kicked 2 goals and I think keeps his spot.
Hastie had more impact on the game than Wilson whilst he was on, I'd give Hastie a game in the starting 22 and consider Wilson as sub.
Collard and Garcia are making a case to be selected.
Garcia for Windhager is a possibility.
Did Butler do enough to hold his spot?
Bonner in the team is upsetting the balance, teams will learn to let him get the ball for the more likely turnover, to the detriment of Sincs and Nas. Shoenmaker didn't do enough at VFL level (1 mark) this week to earn a call up.

Doesn't matter who plays against Richmond - the important question is who will Michael Christian chose to suspend during the game.

Suspensions

Opening Round
None

Round 1
Essendon Mason Redmond Striking 1 Match
Gold Coast Malcolm Rosas Head Butt 1 Match
Wewstern Bulldogs James Harmes Head Butt 1 Match

Round 2
St Kilda Max King Rough Conduct 1 Match
Essendon Peter Wright Rough Conduct 4 Matches

Round 3
St Kilda Marcus Windhager Rough Conduct 1 Match

Play for Essendon or St Kilda - look out!

Going to be interesting to see if Bonner gets a game next week, highly doubtful would be my guess or does Ross back him one more week?

Our growing list of players who aren't available. might save him also.

We're running out of options. Replacing Windhager when we already have Dow, Henry, Crouch, and Clark out is near impossible.

It's really out of Collard and Garcia. Hotton's form has been poor. The only other youngster who's played well is McClennan, but he's the wrong position. Schoenmaker did very little today, and at this stage has a lot to learn about defending one on one.

Also .... Who is going to get 40+ against us coming out of the back line??

King for Caminiti and Garcia for Windy assuming suspension is not overturned. Collard, Keeler, Heath, Hayes and Campbell all looked solid for Sandy. Will also be nice to see what Dow and Clarke can bring to our under performing midfield when fit.

I'd seriously consider brining in Schoenmaker for Bonner.

Garcia for Windhager seems obvious, but might not happen.

I'd bring back King for Sharman. Caminiti just seeks to offer a little bit more in terms of physicality and tackling ability.

I'd give Wilson another go. I certainly wouldn't drop him for Collard or Hastie.

Ideally, I'd ditch Byrnes with the aim of speeding up our movement of the ball forward, but I am totally aware that this isn't going to happen.

Out: Windy (sus), Bonner (The Baker) , Caminiti

In: King, Collard, Garcia

Richmond with Lynch out are not overly tall forward so cant see how schoenmaker gets a run no match up.

B: Stocker, Cordy, Wilkie
HB: Sinclair, Battle, Nas
C: Hill, Steele, Brynes
HF: Phillipou , Membrey, Wilson
F: Butler, King, Higgins
Foll: Roma, Ross, Jones,
Int: Owens, Hastie, Collard, Sharman
Sub: Garcia

I love how everyone has Caminiti out. Can I remind everyone he was one of few that kicked a goal????

Sharman definitely OUT. Missed two set shots against Collingwood, missed two against Geelong as well and missed two against the Dons. NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

INS - KING GARCIA COLLARD

OUTS - BONNER (OMIT) SHARMAN (OMIT) WINDY (SUSP)

The Line:

DEF - STOCKER - CORDY - BATTLE
HB - NWM - WILKIE - SINCLAIR
C - HILL - OWENS - BYRNES
HF- PHILLIPOU - CAMMINITI - HIGGINS
F - COLLARD - KING - MEMBREY
FOL - MARSHALL - STEELE - JONES
BENCH - (FWD) BUTLER - (I/MID) GARCIA - (O/MID) ROSS - (DEF) HASTIE
SUB - WILSON (WING OR HF FOR PACE TO UNLOCK PHILLIPOU OR OWENS OR TO SWING MARSHALL BACK TO DEF AND CAMINITTI IN MIDDLE)

Caminiti still runs around like a headless chook, he doesn’t have much forward craft, he basically needs the ball to fall in his lap. He had 2 good bits of play in a 5 minute period where he hung into a good grab, and had a good tackle.

Sharman got moved into the forward line and took 2 great marks on the lead, he is a forward.

Caminiti is just as likely to injure King flying against him for a mark as kick a goal.

If you need to start dropping players because 'they're missing set shots' how do you explain Higgins and King holding their spots last 2 years?

The reason I'd leave Cooper in the side is because he's versatile. The coach played him in defence in the VFL early last year and they're doing the same thing this year with Keeler. Check out Coop's pressure acts before he was subbed. Sharman stays in because he puts opposition under pressure. How many of our blokes put on smothers?

I think it's unfortunate for Hammer but one of the talls definitely misses with Max coming straight back in. We know Cooper is normally a reliable mark and set shot. I think he's due.

Also, I think he'll be more suited to make Vlastuin accountable (and that's a key match up we can't afford to stuff up).

I think young Darcy Wilson comes out of the side and Collard and Garcia come in. Darcy only laid 1 tackle for the whole game. Goes missing for large parts. Butler wasn't much better, and he may struggle second game back from injury. They need to nurse his time on ground next week.

I'd be backing Angus again as the sub and I think Bonner has to stay in the team because of the fact that we're injury depleted and he's AFL match fit. Only thing is we just don't have him playing in defence. Give him a role higher up the ground.
