There's never a good time for a player to do something like that but right now is the stupidest time imaginable. And he doesn't really have any sort of defence that I can see. On the back of the Brayshaw retirement, I really wouldn't be surprised to see him get 6 weeks or more.

No problem with whatever penalty is deemed appropriate ….
so long as they apply the same across the full season. Which history says they won’t.

All sorts of special pleading comes in when it’s a high-profile player from a big club and when finals are near or started.

It’s the inconsistency that kills me.
