Re: Welcome to the club Liam Henry
Ok so we have 13 and 22 and 35?
Coffield and 56 to WB for 40 and 53
Then go to Geelong who only have 8 and offer 13 and 35 (1734 pts) for 8(1551 pts)

Glad that deal's done.
We'll find out next season if he's any good, we'll certainly learn about any flaws he may have.

How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

Who’s to say?
Anyway, the deal’s done and it’s now Freo’s concern, not ours.

Re: Welcome to the club Liam Henry
That very much depends on where St Kilda finish in 2024. Assuming Fremantle continue to slip down the ladder future 4th could well favour the Saints.
Considering Henry's potential this was definitely a very good deal by the club.
Gain Henry plus pick 21 for the loss of Gresham is pretty good....

Re: Welcome to the club Liam Henry
Exactly. I'd actually much rather have used this year's 2nd rounder in a weaker draft. The 2024 draft is stacked with mids and yet again - we've traded away our bargaining chip (future 2nd) in a stronger draft. Puts a lot of pressure to select a very good player with pick 21 this year.

Re: Welcome to the club Liam Henry
No - that's not strictly correct. It's actually gain Henry plus pick 21 for the loss of Gresham and a pick in the late 20's / early 30's next year ...Sanctorum wrote: ↑Mon 16 Oct 2023 4:09pmThat very much depends on where St Kilda finish in 2024. Re: Welcome to the club Liam Henry
Good point on the future 4th though. I can't see how Freo is going to improve. Their draft hand this year is very poo (due to Jackson) and they've just lost their 40+ goals a year forward on the back of losing their only other 40+ goal a year forward the year before (Lobb).Sanctorum wrote: ↑Mon 16 Oct 2023 4:09pmThat very much depends on where St Kilda finish in 2024. I have no idea how they're going to score in 2024.

What do Geelong need points for?older saint wrote: ↑Mon 16 Oct 2023 3:41pm Ok so we have 13 and 22 and 35?

They don’t have academy or father/son picks to worry about. Points are irrelevant to them this year

Correct - points are only listed to give an indication of the equivalency of the picks combined.diddley wrote: ↑Mon 16 Oct 2023 4:56pmWhat do Geelong need points for?older saint wrote: ↑Mon 16 Oct 2023 3:41pm Ok so we have 13 and 22 and 35?

They may need the later pick though for the Rat trade with Port.
They have also mentioned in the media open to moving this pick

Good job.
Second guessing this deal is nuts.
More important, what number does Liam get and who presents the jersey.

Re: Welcome to the club Liam Henry
He was pick 9 in 2019, averaged 20 possessions in 16 games this year, including a 32 and 33 from memory, despite not reaching 50 games yet, is quick, and cost us less than some had anticipated. Finding fault with this trade is really looking at it as a glass half empty.

Re: Welcome to the club Liam Henry
Good value trade for us. Henry is only 22 and has the outside run and speed that we desperately need. Dow turns 24 soon, and at a cheap price, we can't really lose that trade. Hopefully, this change will be the making of him.
Let's now see if there's any more manoeuvering around our picks. Do we try to get into the top 7 or do we now sit tight ? I suppose it depends on if we have a particular player in mind

Re: Welcome to the club Liam Henry
Now we have henry and probably get Dow we should look to get a KPP in this draft, there are a lot in this draft so if we have 3 picks 2 KPP or 1 Ruck and another mid.
