Changes this week
I actually wouldn't make any changes this week.
Clark again as the sub
Keys to beating Geelong IMO:
Sharman to play a role against Stewart like he did on Scilliy
Time needs to be put into Dangerfield
Marshall to push to dangerous positions as Stanley can get lost in traffic and doesn't defend great.
Cameron is a gun - Wilkie when forward , when he goes on ball put Steele head to head with him which will then make him have some accountability
Duncan very underrated
Our small forwards can hurt them
play with speed
IF hawkins plays Cordy first option if Cameron forward

Re: Changes this week
Sounds about right.
Need a backup plan for Stewart if Sharman doesn’t work.
Hopefully we can out run them.

Re: Changes this week
Rest any player with niggles or any tightness. I’d be inclined to manage Pou this week
Mattaes will get plenty of opportunity to play in big games for his career.
They have Ratugolea, De Koning, and Stewart. We need to isolate these guys. No long bombs!!
I know it won’t happen, but I’d love to see King, Sharman, Membrey and Caminiti in the side. Drop Higgins and bring in Caminiti.
I reckon with 4 talls leading in different directions we can stretch their backline.
Get Owens to start in the centre. Don’t try and tag Danger. Just beat him to the football
Get Steele to tag Duncan if Duncan is causing us havoc
Steele is a gun defensively and will be a target up forward if Duncan doesn’t pay him any respect

Re: Changes this week
Hayes and Caminiti and possibly Coff up for selection this week?
Sharman is the obvious tall out.

Re: Changes this week
yeah most pundits this week will make similar predictions with Hayes, Caminiti and Coff being available for selection.

Re: Changes this week
Would like to find space for Billings but not sure anyone deserves to make way.
Would flip Clark and Pou- pou to sub.

Re: Changes this week
I like to see subs coming on and making some impact, especially when you’re playing for a spot in the team. Clarke was going through the motions, several clangers and had no impact.

Re: Changes this week
I’d be very tempted to drop Jack Higgins and Matias for Caminiti and Billings. Clark goes into the 22 and Billings is the sub.

Re: Changes this week
So Sharman went how against Sicily?
So Sharman went how against Vlastuin?
Just as well Geelong do not have Tom Stewart playing....

Re: Changes this week
No way. Hayes not ready for senior selection yet. Sharman is a better option in the forward line against the experienced, big bodied Cats defenders.

Re: Changes this week
Sicily had really good numbers and was the 3rd highest ranked player for the Hawks.saintsRrising wrote: ↑Tue 15 Aug 2023 9:34pmSo Sharman went how against Sicily?

Sherman had an average game against the Tiges and was subbed out.
Coff is my guess for the player to tip him out but could be Hayes if we are looking for some support in the ruck

Membrey wasn't available against Sicily and last week was his first week backsaintsRrising wrote: ↑Tue 15 Aug 2023 9:34pmSo Sharman went how against Sicily?

I'd be inclined to play Tim on Tom
Having said that, maybe Coops can surprise me and maybe he's ready to take another scalp

Re: Changes this week
Liked Harvey in From Dusk to Dawn. Martin not so much in Grace & Frankie. Harvey copped a bad injury but I'd give him another chance.
Re: Changes this week
The question remains in that did Coffield, Billings, Hayes et al get game time last weekend seeing Sandringham again did not play (noting the proximity to September so thank you AFL, once again)
And if they did, did they impress and demand selection?
In regard Phillipou, it was of interest to me that he spent the time he did in the centre square (also Owens)
So I very much doubt he will be omitted
The coaching staff will introduce the requirements to the playing group
And we trust we can run them off their legs

Re: Changes this week
Why stop there? Why not amputate him? He doesn't need legs.
Look at 11:27
You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

Re: Changes this week
Wow, not sure what quarter you were watching
5 disposals at 100% efficiency (yes I know DE does not tell the whole story but it’s something)
4 tackles
2 score involvements
I think his quarter was ok
Maybe you can take us through his clangers

Sharman out was tactical.Vortex wrote: ↑Tue 15 Aug 2023 10:37pmSicily had really good numbers and was the 3rd highest ranked player for the Hawks.saintsRrising wrote: ↑Tue 15 Aug 2023 9:34pmSo Sharman went how against Sicily?

They wanted Clark in but they wanted to keep our run so took out a tall, maybe Membrey needed more game time otherwise he would've been pulled

Re: Changes this week
Plus the Tigers had subbed off already their ruckman Solda as a tactical move. So Lyon subbed out one of our talls to match them.WellardSaint wrote: ↑Wed 16 Aug 2023 10:14amSharman out was tactical.Vortex wrote: ↑Tue 15 Aug 2023 10:37pmSicily had really good numbers and was the 3rd highest ranked player for the Hawks.saintsRrising wrote: ↑Tue 15 Aug 2023 9:34pmSo Sharman went how against Sicily?

Plus subbing off Sharman allowed Membrey to be given more of a run up the ground for more match practice rather than the the mainly decoy role that Membrey had been playing up till then to prevent the Tigers from playing too many players on Max.

Re: Changes this week
Sicily was reduced largely to getting cheap out the back kicks from his team mates in the main, which padded his stats but largely did no harm.Vortex wrote: ↑Tue 15 Aug 2023 10:37pmSicily had really good numbers and was the 3rd highest ranked player for the Hawks.saintsRrising wrote: ↑Tue 15 Aug 2023 9:34pmSo Sharman went how against Sicily?

First time we played the Hawks Sicily destroyed us with his intercept marking and was BOG.
