Hunter has been a revelation this year. Of all the 'old' players, Hunter, and to an extent Hill are really shining the most.

Would love to poach Zurhaar for pace in the midfield but he’s like a Gresham. Sheezel would be solid as second fiddle to NWM and Sinclair at half back.

Big question… before the season started were we even thinking top 4? IMO, Ross should change focus slightly by bringing in even more debuts this one. It will mean options towards the end of the season.

We have five wins already and we still play North and Hawthorn twice as well as West Coast. To end on 12 wins would be pretty disappointing especially with our most damaging player about to return.

Melbourne have demolished any number of teams. Won a gf not long ago by the length of the straight after missing the start. Arguably the best mid field for a long long time. Sydney got flogged in last GF. It happens. North trying to rebuild from rock bottom. If Clarkson coached Melbourne they would have gone back to back and won last night by 150. False equivalents?

From the perspective of keeping our sanity as Saints fans,we all know what we have to do - and we all know we won’t!

After the Port debacle in 2022, (I put my hand up for 100% blaming Cairns- now I only blame to 73.7% ), we beat a pretty awful Adelaide and a devastated North.
Those wins were a major false dawn - giving us a plump 8-3 win loss at the break.

Ine game at a time!!
We know a respectable win here is on the cards.

It will be an interesting selection meeting this week. To be a fly on the wall!

And by the same token no loss is guaranteed. When you watch us play this year we are a miles better side than last year and with a much easier draw I expect us to win quite a few more.
