Who could have predicted that Keeler would be able to do more than Walk the Boundary line by now?

He won't even get to walk the boundary if he is playing for Sandringham.
But due that games early start he might get to sit in the stands at Marvel.
Even though he has the height to replace Cordy or Caminiti
I hope he is ready for St Kilda soon as Cordy needs to be replaced.

I’m excited to see Billings back. Thought he was meant to be out until after the break.

Really hope he can get his fitness up and stay on the park. Could be a big point of difference down the line

A class above Butler. At least one level, probably several. No disrespect to Dan who is an OK player.

Butler has been incredibly resilient true.
He's obviously very fit, he must do the right things pregame and after game rehab.
He needs a higher output and more return for his efforts.
Maybe Harves, the new fwds coach, will be able to help Butler find his groove and be the best he can be.

Butler plays his role

Defensively minded small forward

He puts on the most pressure of all 6 forwards

While averaging 10 touches a a goal

He has a contract, while 17 others don't. Thats not a guarantee, but its a good start.

For this role that is actually very good output imo.

butler may not have billings class, but he trumps him for doing his job on the field.
will be interesting to see if billings fits into the ross game plan but never felt we've been missing him.

JB is a far better kick and mark than DB. Taller.
DB has the incumbency and durability, which should not be under rated, but stats don't show how many gilt opportunities he wastes.
When DB is on a class rebounding defender that defender often cuts us up, notwithstanding DB's energetic efforts; doubt oppositions spend too much time worrying about him.
Better to choose class over workman like given the choice.
And team won first 4, doesn't mean they were not "missing" Max.
We just see it differently.
As you say, DB gets on the field reliably. Which is a credit to him and has been very good for the side. Could be a function of opposition targeting JB more, could be far better absorption of wear and tear.

I’d swap Billings for Gresham at this point.

Tend to agree. If Billings had played a game like Gresham's game last week, he'd be strung up on the overpass on Nepean Highway.

JB having a good first quarter so far. Helped to set up one goal and kicked another.

Is Keeler playing as I haven't seen him at all and the stats say 0 for him?

Peris in a very impressive 1st quarter. Having to go off twice to get bandaged due to the blood rule.
Billings playing on the wing getting a lot of the ball. Strong mark in front of a pack for his goal.
I like the look of Van Es, a strong lad who moves well.
