Tribunal is a joke
Lynch can go past the footy - not contest it
Instead, Turn his body
Elect to bump
Get opponent high and knock him out
And that’s ok
Again, if it was Steven Baker - 4 weeks
Absolute farce

McKay as well, downgraded.
So The Kremlin keeps saying the head is sacrosanct, but Lynch and McKay are being treated just like Cripps last year.
The Kremlin is big on talk but falls short on action depending on the club.

Re: Tribunal is a joke
Really is pathetic
McKay s team goes on with so much BS and he's get off , but we know full well that if it was done by a no name player then the tribunal would have dismissed the appeal and banged on about duty of care and the head being sacrosanct....blah blah blah....etc...
What does amaze me is how often Carlton players get off when they appeal verdicts.
Obviously their briefs must carry very large paper bags

Re: Tribunal is a joke
The favourable treatment of some clubs and some players at the tribunal is a farce.
He no longer plays for our club, but we all observed how harshly the tribunal has treated Ben Long compared to others.

Re: Tribunal is a joke
Paddy was hard done by because it was his shoulder connecting with Will day's chest.
I haven't had a chance to read the verdict for Mckay but I did hear that they were arguing that Harry didn't connect with Sheezle's head
When Paddy Ryder got rubbed out it was a rubbish decision. Paddy stood his ground. He was stationary and Will ran into him!!
Paddy was protecting himself.
The resultant whiplash or other injury or concussion had nothing to do with Paddy making contact with day's head

That same Kremlin is so concerned about concussion they even allowed concussion certainty Paddy McCartin to continue to play.

Very accident prone is Richmond’s Tom Lynch
Lynch accidentally knocked out Keath …and he was protecting himself while ‘going for a mark’
He was also protecting himself when he accidentally elbowed Ben Paton to the back of Ben’s head and
…he was just clumsy when he accidentally kneed Dougal Howard’s neck

You are over influenced by sensationalist media. Nothing in the Paton incident, did Lynch even get cited for the incidents?Scollop wrote: ↑Wed 12 Apr 2023 9:08amVery accident prone is Richmond’s Tom Lynch

We need a bit of Lynch in Max King, big forwards get pummelled the whole game, often illegally, and Lynch goes full tilt towards the ball, gives no quarter, defenders are well aware he is there. Bit like Plugger, except more restricted.

Re: Tribunal is a joke
If a Saints player had have been rubbed out for either of those incidents this place would have melted down (again).
Can't even believe the Lynch one went up, even tho I agree he is a dirty player.

Re: Tribunal is a joke
100% agree.
Lynch didn't elect to bump. Unfortunate for Keith but not a reportable incident.
McKay did not strike Sheezel...And didn't get him high initially.
I'd be pretty annoyed if either of those incidents resulted in suspensions if they were Saints players being reported.
BTW, the Ryder decision last season was an absolute farce.
Like the Battle free on Saturday night when he stood still and let the GC player run at him head down. What's he supposed to do? Move out of the way?
Imagine the GC player was concussed from that incident? I can hear the outcry now!

Re: Tribunal is a joke
I think its slightly ironic (right word?) because both Lynch and McKay really meant to hurt their respective opponents.
McKay wanted to put the North guy into outer space but missed. Lynch wanted to knock Keith rotten and managed to look clumsy doing it.
Both should have been cautioned and had points added to their playing licence.

Re: Tribunal is a joke
He basically cannonballed Keath.
Didn’t contest the ball and chose to turn his body and made contact with Keath and resulted in him being knocked out
Why didn’t he go for the ball!

Therein lies the problem because if it was a Saints player they wouldn't be playing this weekLife Long Saint wrote: ↑Wed 12 Apr 2023 11:07amI'd be pretty annoyed if either of those incidents resulted in suspensions if they were Saints players being reported.

Re: Tribunal is a joke
I look at that as more of an issue with the vigour of our defence at the tribunal rather than any misguided perception of bias against us.Devilhead wrote: ↑Wed 12 Apr 2023 1:21pmTherein lies the problem because if it was a Saints player they wouldn't be playing this weekLife Long Saint wrote: ↑Wed 12 Apr 2023 11:07amI'd be pretty annoyed if either of those incidents resulted in suspensions if they were Saints players being reported.

I look forward to every club now using the "Kick Accuracy Interference Technique" defence to get players offLife Long Saint wrote: ↑Wed 12 Apr 2023 1:28pmI look at that as more of an issue with the vigour of our defence at the tribunal rather than any misguided perception of bias against us.Devilhead wrote: ↑Wed 12 Apr 2023 1:21pmTherein lies the problem because if it was a Saints player they wouldn't be playing this weekLife Long Saint wrote: ↑Wed 12 Apr 2023 11:07amI'd be pretty annoyed if either of those incidents resulted in suspensions if they were Saints players being reported.

Re: Tribunal is a joke
Looking at the incident, Lynch goes into self preservation mode. If you freeze the frame just before the ball arrives, you'll see Jones, Lynch, and Keith all with their eyes firmly on the ball.
Only Jones judges the drop of the ball accurately. If Lynch didn't turn his body, he'd have ended up with a free for front on contact from Keith, but he risked bruised or broken ribs in the process.
Sometimes there are footy incidents that, through nobody's fault, end up in injuries. This was one of those.

Why didn’t he contest the ball?
You didn’t answer that??
He chose to turn and make contact and not make any attempt to contest the ball
I’d have rubbed him out for two
His object was to make forceful contact with Keath, because he saw him coming! Too soft to contest the ball because he risked getting contact!
Weak as piss
