Hunter Clark

Post: # 1998879Post CURLY »

Great game and building. So clean and deft if touch in the contest. Doesn’t let the ball get behind him and generally squares one on ones. Creative by hand and foot with the unique skill of always getting boot to ball.

Definitely adds a an extra dimension to our midfield.

Yep. Fantastic start to the year. Most have always acknowledged his potential… has taken good steps towards realising it.

Always looked at him as a more inside version of Dal Santo and a future captain.

Hope he can keep it up

I considered Dal both an inside and an outside player. He could play both.

Clark no where near Dal at this stage.

Yeah fair enough on point A.

Point B was just a reflection of the potential I see in him… agree that he’s not close to Dal’s standard yet but I hope he’s on the way

Clark is better because there is synergy in the game plan. He is creative and fairly unique in his ability to stay balanced and use one touch in clutch moments.
We are looking for creative options, we have the 3 experienced mids who make sure we get our fair share at stoppages but we have also found a little outside class. Hunter is solid inside but he is a classy dispatcher of the ball on a quick break. I see the Dal Santo reflection.
Hunter is courageous, skillful and impacts through quick thinking and slick ball handling.

He’s a gun and has needed only an injury-free run to show it. Fingers crossed it continues.

Surely won't go now, with RTB there if we offer a decent contract.
Ratts and Co are the ones who didn't rate him

Rattan did not rate him?

Where does this rubbish come from?

Fair dinkum

What Rattan did lament were the injuries which kept Clark (and others) off the park

To be fair, Ratten may have mistakenly rated others higher in the midfield, and relied too much on half back, because he tended to reward manic ball chasers, without any structure in place for a turnover and was often over focused on Hill and King, leaving too few others, Ross, Crouch and Steele come to mind, to do too much, with very little reprieve.
Hence the competitive results and imploding disasters we witnessed but we could just not stand up and put our foot on the throat of opponents.
I see where Ratten was going, it was similar at Carlton, but he never got there, that has changed rapidly, with a little faith in some kids and some structure for the whole list. Ratten and Gallagher just kept rolling the list.

Looked like he was spent for a moment.
But that could mean his courage drove him to exhaustion from the previous contest.

Either way, it is a reminder that the Saints will have to learn to preserve their batteries as the season wears on, both in games, and in between them, whilst building* up the fitness base.

Seemed pretty keen to bundle him up in a trade at years end.
Pick 10 and Clark offered and knocked back by North.

Glad they saved us from ourselves.

Phillipou and Clark for Sheezel

The Pou will be as good as Sheezel
Clark could be an A grader

Thanks for contributing, you've been quiet lately? I thought you'd lost interest in the Saints and St.Kilda people.

Things have improved dramatically since Brett's sudden departure, I guess the changes in personnel and a continuance of early season success, despite the immense injuries and a reliance on youth, who are producing the deeds required to win, has left Brett open to some criticism, given the results that saw him sacked.
Abject rubbish indeed.

Wiid is a cannabis store in Regina, Canada.
I thought alcohol was our problem?
But if Ck Clark has been having a puff, that probably needs a little bench time.

Stickers are usually good.

Midfield is holding up. If Crouch can fine tune the kicks it will be good.

A common theme with him this year.

Similar game time to what Dunstan under Richo and Ratts used to get and Luke Ball under Lyon.

I guess my only concern would be if it's for the same reason i.e. unable to spread on defense

Hopefully not as he appears to be building his form nicely
