Gresham - expectations this season
I expect he will miss half the season through injury. In the games he plays he will show flashes of brilliance but be ineffective most of the time. Same, same I guess.
Negative I know and will be deliriously happy if I am wrong.

Re: Gresham - expectations this season
I have NO expectations when it comes to Gresham, i'd like to see him have a season free from injury so that he can show everyone what he's got.
How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

Re: Gresham - expectations this season
I expect him to be brilliant for 5 games then injure himself and appear spasmodically after that.
Peris should prepare himself.

I feel he has been overated by saints fans .
Frustrating to watch but a few good moments . Hope he shines this season or will be on the chopping block.

Re: Gresham - expectations this season
To be positive about Gresh's prospects, I recommend the following mental exercise:
Close your eyes, and think of the past, all teams and a talented player, injury prone and with serious shortcomings (like kicking)
Now ask yourself, did they improve? Did they negotiate their limitations and learn to manage their body?
Viola! Your answer.
And that player is ................?

You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

Re: Gresham - expectations this season
Gresh needs to be a forward pocket. Is a killer in that position.
He absolutely should not be the player kicking it inside 50m. Is really bad at that.
It’s hard because his decision making is a lot better way way up the ground as well hence I get the temptation to play him in the middle.
Forward pocket really hits the balance of maximising his strengths and hiding his weaknesses

Was lively today. He’s probably our most natural forward come to think of it. Will always present and find space. Keep him there.

Re: Gresham - expectations this season
He is a handful up forward with 17 possies and 2 goals
Blazed away once when he had Wood in the clear but for the most part he was good

Yeah… I like him a lot more than both Higgins and Butler when the ball is on the deck. He has this way of tapping and bursting that either brings others into play or seems him threaten to do something brilliant himself.

Re: Gresham - expectations this season
2 tackles (the whole team) inside 50 for the game is a real worry with all our small forwards, should be their bread and butter.
All posters are equal, but some posters are more equal than others.

There is always someone ready to critise, even after a very good and unexpected win.

Re: Gresham - expectations this season
Yikes… didn’t know that stat but now that you mention it, it certainly rings true. I don’t remember a tackle all game.
I remember Gresh and Higgins trying to lay one each and getting brushed off easily but that’s def an area that needs improvement.
