Match SIM squad & Match Thread v Melbourne 24/02/23
It looks like everyone is playing that isn't injured. Will be interesting to see how the forward line sets up even if it is a bit of slap and tickle.

When you see it like that it really hits home how many we have out. Not saying they are all starters but ten out and half of them won’t be eligible until at least May is not great newsBeno88 wrote: ↑Fri 24 Feb 2023 7:50am So those not playing are...

Given it has been 5 months since a footy was kicked in anger, it is a disappointingly long list

5 out who have claims of being best 22.
Not ideal but not a disaster either. I'd suggest most of the year most clubs have 3-7 out any given week. (made up statistic with no research)
Hopefully we dont get any more before round 1.

Re: Match SIM squad v Melbourne 24/02/23
Jones and Mackenzie have contributed when playing, but them injured is nothing new and they may have to make way for development anyway.
Milera and Windhager have impacted and are coming on, in the meantime.
King is a huge loss and Membrey was a precautionary decision. If they come back fit, not much will be impacted.

Re: Match SIM squad v Melbourne 24/02/23
I dare say it is a disaster. You are correct, most teams have 3-7 injured any given week, however they don't start with 10 at this stage (many of which are long term). Unless we get no new injuries over the next 2mths we're going to be chasing our tail all season.nostalgicsaint wrote: ↑Fri 24 Feb 2023 8:44am 5 out who have claims of being best 22.

How many times do you hear clubs/players talk about their preseason and having an injury free run determine a good/bad season.
D-Mac still listed 'indefinate' !? What's going on there?

Yes it's a huge disaster, almost tragic actually.
In fact it really makes what is happening in Ukraine, Syria and Turkiye pale into insignificance!
Seriously, this was always going to be a game-olan development year.
We are going to tread water mid ladder until 2025, when the youngs uns start to develip and impact results regularly.

Comparing a little footy season with genocide and major world catastrophes. Surely intelligent st.kilda supporters can comprehend the difference between levels of disaster.darylcowie wrote: ↑Fri 24 Feb 2023 1:15pm Yes it's a huge disaster, almost tragic actually.

This year is definitely a development/ transistion year, ala RTB first year in 2007, but for those hoping to compete for the premiership this year then yes you could call these injuries a disaster.

See how we react but we are leaving too much space in the D50. Not much to say so far other than that.

Nothing new I can see so far at the end of the 1st period. Goals to Byrnes and Cordy.

Standard late goal to the opposition in the last 30 secs
Melbourne have taken multiple marks inside their forward 50 and not sure if we have taken one
