Re: Who’s injured?…
Good questions BM, someone who attends tomorrows training might be able to ask the questions. That is quite a list missing the critical first part of the pre season, that in itself will have an impact on their preparation. I havent read or seen anything on Gresham? From memory I think I read Billings & Battle will join the main group after the break, Hayes & Coffield joined joined some ball movement drills but neither are in full contact.

King (shoulder) - probably mid season after bye - end of April/early May
Coffield (knee) - should be right round 1 after hamstring set back
Hayes (knee) - also should be ok for round 1..close to contact training
Billings (back) - back to running & looks extremely fit - timeline not known
Gresham - should start to do more soon..modified program due to injury history
Battle - started running just before Christmas after ankle surgery..should ramp up training soon
Adams - has ongoing back issue - has been only running laps
Keeler- Should be ok now after hurting his knee a week or so prior to their last training run - was going to miss 4 weeks
McKenzie - still troubled by that calf seems to keep re occurring
Any others?

Re: Who’s injured?…
From AFL.com
ST KILDA has welcomed a host of players back to full training, but draftee Olli Hotton is set to miss the first half of 2023.
Jade Gresham (knee), Jack Billings (back), Josh Battle (ankle), Jack Hayes (knee), Dan McKenzie (calf) and Oscar Adams (back) are back with the main group.
However, there was bad news for Hotton, who was taken with pick No.35 in the NAB AFL Draft, after he developed a stress fracture in his back.
"This injury is a really disappointing blow for Olli who, like any draftee, was keen to get stuck into his program," Saints performance, medical and operations manager David Misson said.
"The recovery for this type of injury requires a period of rest before incremental load increases, which while frustrating, should mean that this issue does not reoccur.
"In the meantime, unfortunately it is likely that Olli will miss the majority of the first half of the season while he recovers."
SAINTS' FANTASY Lock in the skipper, Mattaes is a must at this bargain price
Nick Coffield (knee/hamstring), Tom Campbell (Achilles) and Zak Jones (calf) have slight niggles delaying their returns to full training.
Isaac Keeler, taken with pick No.44 in the draft, is recovering from a knee injury.
"Nick had been progressing really well in his ACL recovery before a hamstring strain towards the end of the year required surgery. This has only set him back a few weeks, and we expect him to be available for the pre-season games," Misson said.
"Similarly, Tom Campbell aggravated his Achilles just before Christmas and given his age and the delicate nature of Achilles injuries, we're taking a considered approach to his training, with an eye on the pre-season games.
"Isaac suffered an injury to his knee in one of the last sessions of the year, which was later confirmed to be a torn tendon. He is progressing well in his recovery and is scheduled to resume running in the coming weeks with the goal of full availability come round one."
After undergoing shoulder surgery in mid-December, Max King's exact timeframe for his return remains uncertain.

Re: Who’s injured?…
Pity. Of all of our new young draftees I thought that he was the most ready to play now.

Re: Who’s injured?…
After reading the latest injury report on the Saints.com.au: couldn't help but reflect that I need to temper my expectations.
I thought, gee we still seem to have CHB/CHF deficiencies (with respect to Z. Cordy who may be a real good CHB), ruck will be even more mightily dependent on Rowan with Campbell having achilles problems and Max not playing; Jack Billings chronic back problem? Dan McKenzie's calf must have been pretty bad so him returning to his excellent form questionable? Josh B having ongoing ankle problems - all makes me a tad concerned. And of course the tragedy of Max's injury which no one is willing to give a prognosis on - easily could be all year or worse the way the reports skirt around his post op situation (?)
The upside is that new players and formations will have to be tried and the evolution should be fun, even if frustrating at times.
But, fair dinkum, don't we deserve some good luck - if we didn't have bad luck we'd have none. Poor young bloke Hotten now, come on.

Re: Who’s injured?…
Coffield has had hamstring surgery, so that looks like a long lay-off.
It seems every year Josh Battle has ankle surgery at the end of the season
Jones has done a calf...yet another soft tissue injury for him. Will he be in good shape for round one given it's only 9 weeks away?
The fitness staff have quite a job in front of them. I'd expect to see a few selection surprises for round one, as some of these regular senior players are not going to be ready.
