Delisted Bomber set to receive lifeline from St Kilda
Delisted Bomber Josh Eyre is likely to receive a lifeline from St Kilda despite being offered a train on opportunity with Essendon.

It’s a bit random. Take it for what it’s worth.

Re: Delisted Bomber set to receive lifeline from St Kilda
The club must rate him (Josh Eyre) higher than the 2 x SA tall forwards Lemney and Scully from this years draft, as they had a chance to grab them. It makes sense as a CHF is still a list need, even with the recruitment of Keeler.
I had a look at his combine results from 2020 the boy is very quick and has great endurance. Eyre would also be 2 years ahead development wise so he would be a good fit list wise. His VFL stats are very similiar to Matt Allison taken in the same draft.
Wouldnt it be nice to grab another of Essendon's discards and turn him into a star ala Stevie Milne.

Re: Delisted Bomber set to receive lifeline from St Kilda
Pick 39 in 2020, at 198 cm Josh Eyre will certainly boost St Kilda's stock of talls.
There's been no further mention of Liam Stocker, the mid cut by Carlton, pick 19 in 2018, who's been invited to train at Moorabbin, thought he might have been rookied this week but maybe that won't happen until after the full squad returns for training next week. There are no more drafts but assume clubs can still add players before start of the season to rookie or fill vacant spots??

As long as we don't develop him and then hand him back, a la Nick Hind.

Josh Eyer - 195cm = 6ft 5
Matt Allison - 195cm = 6ft 4
Hopefully one or both can improve & contribute

According to BF Stocker was at training this morning.Sanctorum wrote: ↑Fri 02 Dec 2022 2:12pm Pick 39 in 2020, at 198 cm Josh Eyre will certainly boost St Kilda's stock of talls.

Both he and Eyre can be taken as SSP. From the AFL site "Pre-Season Supplemental Selection Period (SSP) clubs have been advised the SSP will take place from Monday January 10 to Wednesday March 9, 2022".
We have two list spots available so they can be added after Jan 10, but I suppose there is nothing stopping the club committing to them before then.

One would think they’d wait until March to get an idea of training commitment and internal practice match form before finalizing a decision.Impatient Sainter wrote: ↑Fri 02 Dec 2022 2:21pmAccording to BF Stocker was at training this morning.Sanctorum wrote: ↑Fri 02 Dec 2022 2:12pm Pick 39 in 2020, at 198 cm Josh Eyre will certainly boost St Kilda's stock of talls.

I read somewhere Eyre was used at both ends in the VFL, I wonder where we see him slotting in?

Re: Delisted Bomber set to receive lifeline from St Kilda
He is more developed then the new big guys we just drafted so he would be ok to play Ruck as well if something happed to Row, Campbell Hayes will be not ready for a while so good backup at 198cm 93kg and can play as we need him very good move.
So if we add him to the team do we have to use a list spot for him as with stocker that would be our 2 unused spots gone.

Re: Delisted Bomber set to receive lifeline from St Kilda
With the addition of some these taller players (Keeler, Van Es, & Eyre), the VFL team will have some structure and talent down the spine. As it stands, most of the Sandy listed talls are just awful.
Really hard to develop the St Kilda youngsters with such an dearth of talent among the Sandy players.

Nickname "Lake".
Plays like Tom Hickey (unappreciated)
Career goal: get away from Jake Stringer.
Thinks, if Paul Hunter can get a game. .. ........ I'm a chance .

Re: Delisted Bomber set to receive lifeline from St Kilda
How can there be an inch difference when twice converting 195cm ?
How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

The only problem is Eyre was being being developed at Essendon, their review stated their player development was shite so who knows where he's at.Impatient Sainter wrote: ↑Fri 02 Dec 2022 1:49pm The club must rate him (Josh Eyre) higher than the 2 x SA tall forwards Lemney and Scully from this years draft, as they had a chance to grab them.
