Bing & Rankine
Bing & Rankine both in the same draft ..... both highly rated
St Kilda & Adelaide come calling ..... one decides to stay citing the group are close and want to stay together ..... the other stays quiet and waits and eventually says he wants out and looks likely to find a way out
Fk you AFL and your wank ambassador payment scheme

And one of them has a twin brother playing for the team he was a fanatical fan of his whole life - how did we miss him again?

Re: Bing & Rankine
Bing did his knee. Best for everyone if he takes the big money Gold Coast have offered him to recover and make sure he is over it and it won’t be an ongoing issue before we make our play.

I thought Greame Allan was going to help us lure the big names but it doesn’t look like we’re getting anyone.

Is that a serious question.Banger9798 wrote: ↑Wed 24 Aug 2022 7:29am And one of them has a twin brother playing for the team he was a fanatical fan of his whole life - how did we miss him again?
We didn't miss him we only had one pick in the top 6 where he was selected and used it on Max.
Some people on this site need to get a little bit of perspective you cannot blame everything on the club.

Re: Bing & Rankine
Signed until his free agency kicks in when he may be able to write his own ticket .
I still think he will stay if they develop as they have a nice core of players who have bought in (it can turn quickly though)
As said before too there is an assumption that being a brother , and a twin also, that they want to play together - perhaps they want to establish their own individual careers. Wakelins went seperate ways, 1 was a premiership player and the other we let walk and played in GF's

Re: Bing & Rankine
What about the packed the GC players had to stay together Rankin just blue that apart.
So bing might be gettable GC did ok without him so not that big a loss if he goes to us.

Not, how did we miss drafting him, but trading for him.SinCitySainter wrote: ↑Wed 24 Aug 2022 9:50amIs that a serious question.Banger9798 wrote: ↑Wed 24 Aug 2022 7:29am And one of them has a twin brother playing for the team he was a fanatical fan of his whole life - how did we miss him again?

If Adelaide manage to extract Rankine and yet we can't do the same with Bing - despite what you would think would be overwhelming reasons to come - how have we missed that??
He'd be a) coming home b) coming to the team he supported, and c) playing with his twin brother.
Any one of those is a reason used by other players for a move, he's got all 3 and staying

Re: Bing & Rankine
The biggest F#ck up was by Gold Coast!
Strategically they should have taken both Kings & set their forward line up for the next decade and most likely kept the two of them together.
Brook and Marni would have no doubt moved as well and the Suns would have had two generational players had they developed them properly.

I remember thinking that back before the draft, and it was the first thing i thought when Rankine requested out.D.B.Cooper wrote: ↑Wed 24 Aug 2022 7:34pm The biggest F#ck up was by Gold Coast!

Ultimately it worked better for us i think, because if the kings both went to GC, we would have taken Luko, who is good, but not Max King good.

He has never been available to trade as he signed a new contract.

Re: Bing & Rankine
Rankine is reportedly getting ridiculous money to move to the Crows. Bing got a pay rise and was always going to remain loyal the GCS. He is a quality kid and it shows through his loyalty to GCS. He would have been nice, but 1 extra player doesnt garuntee team sucess.

No. It was widely reported that they were going to chose Connor Rozee until Lethlean stepped in and overruled the pick and they chose Max.diddley wrote: ↑Wed 24 Aug 2022 8:16pmI remember thinking that back before the draft, and it was the first thing i thought when Rankine requested out.D.B.Cooper wrote: ↑Wed 24 Aug 2022 7:34pm The biggest F#ck up was by Gold Coast!

Re: Bing & Rankine
Surely the Crows money can be outbid by the AFL to keep Rankine on the coast, that's what they do.

Re: Bing & Rankine
Well Rankine won't be able to holiday at the Gold Coast. And no more schoolies events for him. No more surfing in warm water.
I think Adelaide has a nice arts festival though.
Paton will pants him next year.

Re: Bing & Rankine
Bing chose money over his dream.
I don’t care how much coin, that was his choice
And frankly our club supporting that also showed how money wins the day. No passionate pleas to get him to screw the money, our full support. Says it all.
When you compare that to Trevor Barker who won a car and handed it over for the club to sell, speaks volumes on what is possible in this world over money.
So all in all, not that big a dream really. Sell out

I agree and someone can transcend it but they won’t because none of them have learned to think. Spoon fed and brainwashed. Starts with Private Schools and Player Managers.
