Re: Positives
Positives? I didn't make the trip. Finally found it within myself to not go after not missing a trip down there for like 30-odd years.
Fought with every instinct in my body to not drive down at the last minute. But so very glad I didn't.
That was a positive. Will do the next two games at Marvel and then, for the first time ever, have a serious think about what I want to be doing next year.
The club couldn't care less about us if they tried. I'm trying to justify this very one-way relationship that delivers less and less with every year that passes.
I really hate saying it but I can't bond with this group of players. They seem to be professional athletes temporarily playing for St Kilda FC Pty Ltd rather than Saints men who we'll talk about for the next 50 years. It's so worrying. I have never felt like this.

It's not about the result
It's never about the result
It's about the effort
There was no effort

& Wood & Sharman & Dougal got through ok & end of the Hanneberry era. Plus Hawkins was pinged for a flick pass. Long's goal. That's it, all I've got. Oh Max's left foot banana and relief when we kicked that 8th goal.

Re: Positives
Flicked over to channel 157 in time to watch the 1500 metre final and a great win by Ollie Hoare.
The other positive, I didn't go and there's only 2 games to go to end another mediocre season.

Re: Positives
Positive or not I think it was a fair indication of where we are really at . Scrappy wins over 2 bottom 5 teams in the last few weeks probably papered over a few cracks but I think the majority of saintsational posters knew it was going to be a big ask & we were just not up to it on the night

Did the same, great win, and yes in a little while we can transform from demorilised to hopeful like we have for the last 50+ years. November is a great time for saints fans, so much potential.Bruce G McAbee wrote: ↑Sat 06 Aug 2022 11:53pm Flicked over to channel 157 in time to watch the 1500 metre final and a great win by Ollie Hoare.

Re: Positives
Obviously the young lads did great tagging....
Crouch & Hill were quite good, Still felt Hill was out of position but he did a decent job.
Crouch had 11 tackles and his disposal effectiveness was high.
Still need to see Max move in a way that empowers him to mark the ball. Bit hard being double teamed. Membrey lifted over his slumping AVG of past two months ( bar his 150th).
And....we are ONE GAME CLOSER to Ratts contract expiring!!!! C'mon!!!

...we have a couple of ex lawyers running our footy club and I think the balance has been tipped away from having St Kilda people running the St Kilda FCevertonfc wrote: ↑Sat 06 Aug 2022 11:27pm Positives? Those in charge understand that it is passion and loyalty that motivates football supporters
They are passionate about making sure that we understand how hard they are all working down there at RSEA Park....but I wonder
Do the people in charge actually have any genuine passion for our club?

Re: Positives
Fortunately we only have one TV and the wife was watching the Commonwealth Games.
Went to bed not knowing the score and had a dream that Geelong put 45 goals on us in the second half. Woke up today and find it didn't happen. Thank goodness.
