Re: NWM and Windhager
The great thing is that they're only about a quarter way to reaching their full potential and output, yet they are playing senior football and contributing.
Owens will be as good as those two, as well.
In a few years we will look back very fondly at the 2021 draft

Re: NWM and Windhager
I haven’t seen much of Windhager ‘live’ (only on TV). It would appear that he doesn’t have a long kick. Pity, but not the worst thing in the world. What do others think?
summertime and the living is easy ........

Re: NWM and Windhager
I think he does - just not confident in it yet so plays within himself

Yep, absolutely.
Rugby League would have to be the stupidest, most moronic and over rated game of all time.

Re: NWM and Windhager
Bytel will be as good as them too. Unfortunate circumstances have held him back.
St Kilda should never trade with Essendon and Sydney ever again!!!

Re: NWM and Windhager
Both will be players
Fringe at the moment, and I’m not for picking someone because they’re the future
I would pick best 22 EVERY week regardless of age
We are NOT rebuilding or gifting games

Re: NWM and Windhager
Short sighted
We are not winning the flag with this list this year (should make finals but we’ll see)?
We need to bridge their development gap as fast as possible whike Steele, King, Wilkes, Sinclair etc are still part of our core
Sometimes you need to play them to Excelerate that as part of a longer term play
If Ratten is retained he’d want to do that in order to push out some lesser lights in the middle right nowv

Re: NWM and Windhager
Spot on. Owens also. Unless form drops right off or a need to manage them, we need to get as many games into this trio as we can. We can build a formidable midfield around these guys. Both Windy and NWM would have taken a huge amount of confidence out of that Blues game. Both looking like they're starting to believe they belong at AFL level. Must play them!Teflon wrote: ↑Sun 03 Jul 2022 1:27amShort sighted

Re: NWM and Windhager
Those 3 should play the rest of the season, no matter what our ladder position is, unless they lose form completely.stkfc1 wrote: ↑Sun 03 Jul 2022 3:16pmSpot on. Owens also. Re: NWM and Windhager
Why?
Did they earn their spot??
Do NOT gift games?!
He’ll, why not play Allison, Sharman, Connolly, Bytel etc…
Why
Because we’d be getting results like North
Kids play when they’re ready! They pick themselves

Re: NWM and Windhager
And I think the consensus from fri night's game is… NWM and Windy are ready!
Or at the very least, they clearly haven’t been gifted a game.

Re: NWM and Windhager
I agree
But I do not subscribe to the fact that we play them because they are young
We play them because they are good enough!

Re: NWM and Windhager
Harvs didn't have a long kick on him either. Much better to be able to hit the weighted 20m dink kick to a leading King/Membrey than have a bullet kick to the opposition.
Go you red, black & white warriors
