Match Thread Rd 1 vs the Filth
If the pre-game kicking at goal in anything to go by…
We’re going to win 18.2 to 3.14
We were sinking them from everywhere and from the Collingwood side where I’m sitting… spraying them all over the place.
If it’s a strategy to lull us into a state of overconfidence… it certainly worked on me
Also… good to see Marvel Stadium all marvelled up
GO SAINTS

Re: Match Thread Rd 1 vs the Filth
I’ve no idea where any teams are form-wise round 1, I’m a bit worried, hope we get up!

All I know is that our best is better than their best.
Problem is, will we bring our best tonight.

Boy NWM is stick thin but even now his skills stand out

We look very haphazard without the ball
Not sure where to punch
Not manning up well
Spoiling is atrocious

Aaah Kent makes me laugh
I criticised him early for not kicking goals and he gets one handed to him on the goal line
Nice work

Tackling, pressure, corralling etc is atrocious
Every time Collingwood have the ball they burst forward options aplenty

Looks like two middling teams, but just one with a game plan.

Re: Match Thread Rd 1 vs the Filth
Exactly.
Pretty disappointing also to see the opposition marking again uncontested in our forward line. Inexcusable.

Re: Match Thread Rd 1 vs the Filth
Well, after 1 quarter can’t say I’ve seen anything too inspiring, just looks like more of the same old 2021.
Ball movement unconvincing, delivery inside 50 same rubbish, backline looks dicey.
3 goals directly from Pies mistakes, not sure if that’s sustainable.

I agree, first from a kick straight to us, another from a handball to us, and the last from a direct free kick.
You make your own luck, but we have to start kicking our own goals.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Re: Match Thread Rd 1 vs the Filth
Lucky to be just nine points down. Collingwood has looked by far the better side so far.
