Number 21 takes a leave of absence
Seriously..... the best number 21 we had at the club in some time (Georgia Patrikios) has requested a leave of absence
Hope all goes well for Georgia. A natural & wonderful footballer

Re: Number 21 takes a leave of absence
I relative terms
Patrikios is almost equivalent to Jack Steele as far as her impact with her team!
The one player they could Ill afford to lose!!!
Hope she gets better and is back on the park soon - gun player

Yes, Georgia is a gun player for the Women's team, hope she overcomes her issues and is back at the Saints very soon.
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

If it has something to do with taking the vaccine then that's a shame. I agree with the AFL policy.
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

You don't know the reason and you are only guessing. Calling a player an idiot in those circumstances, or any other for that matter is simply not on.

I have met Georgia and she really is a quality person.
Very level headed.
If she is taking a break I am sure it is for a very good reason.

Freely calling a young, very talented person, who is using their talent to the best of their ability, an idiot is disgusting, under any circumstances and deserves to be called out.

Re: Number 21 takes a leave of absence
Oh fgs if that's her reason I think she's an fool. What do you think? I said I hope it's not the case. But anyway snce when has it been 'disgusting' to use the word idiot? That's a new one on me. I seem to have strayed into snowflake territory.66Iwasthere wrote: ↑Fri 22 Oct 2021 5:39pm Freely calling a young, very talented person, who is using their talent to the best of their ability, an idiot is disgusting, under any circumstances and deserves to be called out.

Thanks for sticking up for her after a couple of shitty comments.samuraisaint wrote: ↑Fri 22 Oct 2021 5:33pm I have met Georgia and she really is a quality person.

You’ve got a person who doesn’t know her as a person who is just purely making themselves feel good for the two seconds that they do a social media post by putting someone else down.”

Re: Number 21 takes a leave of absence
It must be tough to be an anti-Vaxer at present.
The rapid turnaround of the population’s attitude to getting the thing and moving on, and the joy at being released from lock down must have swept the state. (Says he from Japan)
And if you sincerely believed that it was all a hoax, it must be tough.
Of course, ever say never, who knows what happens next etc. etc. , but I’d guess the anti vax corner is really in a corner so to speak.
Wasn’t that long ago there were riots in the streets..Perhaps that was the turning point.
Good luck to her.
Disclaimer…all written on the assumption that it is the vax that is the issue.

Re: Number 21 takes a leave of absence
The article, written by the AFL, all but says that it's due to the vaccination requirements.
If that's not the case, then the Saints should say they're disgusted that the article implies that, confirm that her leave of absence is not due to that reason and then say we'll make no further comment.
If, however, it is for that reason, and that's an if based on the implication in the article, then she's making a big mistake. I'm not going to call her an idiot, but she's most certainly uninformed and most definitely being selfish. Not only for the club, her team mates, and the fans and members, and her family. Literally, take one for the team!

Re: Number 21 takes a leave of absence
Weird if that’s true.
Lifelongsaint has hit the nail on the head. It’s very clearly implied that vaccination is the issue.
If that’s not the issue... the article is quite slanderous.
Why would the club not clear that up?

Re: Number 21 takes a leave of absence
The club has said they will not be commenting, to then speak to clear something up is commenting, which they have said they won't be doing.
