is going with a rumour that the club has asked Hannas to retire at end of year to free up a list spot.

Remember, this is just a rumour and could be absolutely someone fishing for attention

I just wonder whether selection will be tampered with because of 'triggers' and 'thresholds' and the like....so some players will be given a little push up the rankings in order for them to qualify based on their contact and to 'push' others out of contention, by dint of non-selection.

I thought something was fishy about Carlisle missing all those games and then being consistently picked again towards the end of the season before last...And others...I mean..Kent? What is going on there? By picking Kent they are getting themselves into a better position to bargain with say, Bytel's manager?

I'm sure I am reading too much into it and I know that I don't have a clue of the details, but with half a million bucks and a dozen players' careers on the line...and managers..and list managers..you suspect that there has to be something going down.

but I think you're on the money in this case- footy is a business, and the cap is tighter now with covid.

They're not putting the best 22 on the ground, it's more like the best 22 that they can afford.

I just hope he doesn't get in on reputation alone. Another 18 touch game in the seconds is not justification for a call up and he is not the future of this club. Pick a kid ahead of him who's in better form but I don't want to see Dan playing unless his form in the VFL demands a recall.

Personally I would just play him at Sandy for the rest of the year full increasing game time hopefully get a pre season looking to next year

Hannebery will probably play enough games next year to trigger year 5, then spend year 5 on the sidelines.
