Sign up Dunstan ASAP!!!
Would have happily delisted him 2 months ago...
Kid looks like a gun now and is surely a priority re-signing
Super proud of him and glad to eat my words
Would be an absolutely tragedy to lose him now.
Get on to it

Re: Sign up Dunstan ASAP!!!
And we better throw some dollars Highmore's way, and maybe some Byrnes way, then again some should go to Connolly also...sorry this is Dunny's thread, I'm so confused. What did we just witness?

He has worked on his deficiencies and still gets the ball as much.
Now really compliments a very strong midfield with Steele ,Jones, Crouch and Dunstan.

Re: Sign up Dunstan ASAP!!!
Should be top of the list
Credit to the coaching staff and Luke for getting it right.
Agressive ball winner
Have always loved him as a potentially good player but was so disappointed in his development.
He is becoming the player many though he could be when he arrived a while back.
Give him a three year deal and put him on the leadership team.

Yep, he has earned it the hard way and will be a better player going forward. Not all midfielders are automatic stars from day one, Luke has 4 or 5 good seasons ahead of him.

Never sign a player in white hot form
Offer him a contract at seasons end.

What a turnaround, he is a ripper! Loved Highmore and Byrnes' games and McKenzie has carried on his good form!

Re: Sign up Dunstan ASAP!!!
Having 2 dominant ruckmen certainly help Dunstan, we can afford to play all of Steele, Crouch, Ross, and Dunstan when you know you are winning or nullifying each ruck contests.
When we play with losing ruckmen he is exposed for pace and we look sluggish on the clearances.
Jones Gresham and now Byrnes proving to be crucial ingredients

Dunny has single handily pushed his value through the roof .So now its not a matter if he wants to stay it's more about what will you offer me to stay . Team's with a bigger cheque book might just be enough to twist his arm

Re: Sign up Dunstan ASAP!!!
None of Steele, Crouch, Ross or Dunstan are speedsters. All are valuable players. And yes, we need to mix it up with a bit of speed and creativity.Banger9798 wrote: ↑Sun 11 Jul 2021 12:23am Having 2 dominant ruckmen certainly help Dunstan, we can afford to play all of Steele, Crouch, Ross, and Dunstan when you know you are winning or nullifying each ruck contests.

The question is, given Luke’s outstanding form, does the pecking order change? While he is playing like he is, it is his spot to lose IMO

Re: Sign up Dunstan ASAP!!!
Gresham, Jones and McKenzie (wing) are quick
As is Hill, Sinclair off HB
Long at HF
Butler small forward
And Byrnes seems pacy
And believe it or not Kent is only behind Hill as far as top speed goes 34.5 (Hill over 35) and Seb Ross can reach 33.9 (he doesn’t look as quick as he is)

Has barely put a foot wrong under Ratten, should have played a lot more on merit.

No way we can sign Dunstan up. What happens when he plays badly?

Re: Sign up Dunstan ASAP!!!
Dunstan may not be quick, but he is very, very strong in close.
He tackles and hits hard and seems to have added some physicality to his game … even a mean streak.
Will be St Kilda’s loss and another club’s gain if he moves on

Re: Sign up Dunstan ASAP!!!
Keep in mind that he's done this before. When his career was on the line a few years ago he had an awesome six week period and then went back to his usual standard.
If he can keep this form up then I'll be absolutely thrilled, but I'm not convinced yet.

Re: Sign up Dunstan ASAP!!!
We should do WHATEVER it takes to keep ALL of the guys who played last night together.
Add to them the likes of Battle, Allison. Bytel, Clark, Coff, Gresh, Hanners, Higgo, Paton, Sharman, Heath, Wood, Clav and Joyce (YES, Wood, Clav and Joyce).
Do WHATEVER it takes to keep Billings and Dunstan.
Keep Gears for a player/coach kinda role for the young guys at Sandy.
Let Lonie, Jake, Alabakis, Frawley, Hunter, McKernan, Roberton go (freeing up 6 spots)...
Go to the draft with our first round pick (pick 11 - 18), and with the other spots fill them with either excellent speculative late draft picks (Paton-Byrnes-Connolly types) or young state league gems (Wilkie-Highmore types), or the best of our NGA kids (Owens etc).
ONLY consider trading our first round pick IF an under 23 year old, established player - the likes of Ollie Florent - can be lured across.
Do this and we will be as good as any list in the comp - a list packed with youngsters, oldsters, grunters, munters, speedsters, skillsters and freaks, ready to contend!
We are on the cusp, you know it's true...
MAKE IT HAPPEN SAINTS!!!

Called it.
Been saying it for 2 seasons.
You’re welcome.
Oh, and you had any more good laughs at young players doing their ACLs again this morning?

Re: Sign up Dunstan ASAP!!!
Might have to sell the farm now to keep Dunstan....hearing a couple of clubs are sniffing around including Carlscum. Another player who is now playing with confidence and so his game has gone to another level....definitely need to hang on to him if possible

Re: Sign up Dunstan ASAP!!!
Been good ish but his lack of spread, speed and kicking ability is very very noticeable.. can't kick single 15m kicks. If he tries to command decent $ imo not worth it.. would prefer Bytel gettijg game time on lower cash and has a higher ceiling

Re: Sign up Dunstan ASAP!!!
If it was a Billings or Dunstan, I would take Billings every single time. Don't think we should be overrating Dunstan, his kind of ability and one dimensional game play is much easier to replace than Billings
