Re: Tip & margin for GWS game
I think we have previously matched up well against GWS and we will be confident of beating them, they have lost 2 elite players since we last beat them comprehensively. Admittedly we last played them as the wheels where falling off the club so it will be interesting to see how they respond.
25 point victory to us.

I live in Sydney and have never seen the Saints beat the Giants live at the ground and the last time I saw Saints win in Sydney was against the Swans in 2010. It has been long overdue--Saints by 24 points.

I already said that I can't see us winning - and that was before all the new outs. I predict we'll drop the Melbourne game too. In fact, I think we'll take a good long while to get going in 2021, but we will peak at the right time. From Round 11 onwards, it's gonna be a 1997 climb.

I think we’ll lose to North too. North dominated towards the end of the third a few weeks ago and while we won the game well, it was a small sign that we may be faltering.shanegrambeau wrote: ↑Fri 12 Mar 2021 12:10am I already said that I can't see us winning - and that was before all the new outs. Re: Tip & margin for GWS game
Tips: Green to get hard tag;Himmelburg to get 3; unheralded rucks to have a titanic go; Coniglio tries to iron out Billings early; Max will find Davis a difficult opponent, learn a lot and kick 3; game plan will require kicking to opposite side to Nick Haynes; Saints will come home hard and it will be a bounce of the ball contest in forward pocket that decides if Butler can snap the winning goal.

LOL - I hope it does not go the way I read this as "Kicking to opposite side (of the play) to Nick Haynes (who intercepts and clears)
Saints in a close one - I think the belief is there

Yeah, we looked stuffed. Especially the last 6 minutes of the game.SaintPav wrote: ↑Fri 12 Mar 2021 7:16amI think we’ll lose to North too. Re: Tip & margin for GWS game
I think (hope i'm proved wrong) that we'll be chasing all day, we'll be down by 2-3 goals all game, and lose by 2.
Only because of the missing players.
JWeb hasn't played for ages and he'll give 110%,
but I'm worried he'll make one or 2 blunders under pressure when he's outnumbered. E.g. he'll kick straight over 2 Saints and land it in an oppo's arms for an easy goal.
Won't have the composure under pressure

It's round 1, no one really knows where anybody is at, anything could happen, let's hope it's a win!

Saints by 197. I think we’ll ease up in the last quarter which will cost us. We’ll rest a few players towards the end too. Might only have 14 on the field by the final siren.

Re: Tip & margin for GWS game
This will be the first of many games to show how much we'll miss Paton. If Greene gets off the chain we will lose a close one. If we can hold him then we should win by 3 to 5 goals.

Re: Tip & margin for GWS game
Yes, it's good to be measured about these things. A common problem for us lately when we grab three figure leads during the latter parts of games. (or four)

For twenty years we hardly lost to the Swans in Sydney. Hopefully those times will return.sainterinsydney wrote: ↑Fri 12 Mar 2021 12:00am I live in Sydney and have never seen the Saints beat the Giants live at the ground and the last time I saw Saints win in Sydney was against the Swans in 2010. Saints will win. Margins are odious.
