It sounds like Caldwell is now staying. Is this because Tim is leaving?

Would be a huge get. HUGE.

After last year's quality draft to then get someone of Tarantos calibre would be a massive coup for the club and we would be a bona fide destination club. Getting a clubs B&F winner wanting to come to us , who's not even in his prime yet, would be massive tick for the club.

I'll believe it when I see the ink drying on the contract, but where's there's smoke....

Wouldn't be too many players ahead of him in the league that I'd want to recruit. Make it happen saints

Definitely a gun player.. However,

Is his disposal a worry though? Below avg disposal efficiency for the past 3 years now..

The Saints obviously have a smart strategy in chasing who they want. It seems GWS keep Caldwell so we then turn our attention to Taranto who is a much more established and prolific player. Great stuff Saints!!

I tried to be quiet but I just can't contain it.

This is a ruse to trick GWS and the rest of the competition.
The truth is we are going take Taranto AND Caldwell.

This was raised a few weeks back here I think.

Trade period usually drives me crazy because it is just all bulltish...

But if they can pull this one off.. hooly dooly.

Make no mistake though, we will be losing some players that have been regular best 22 for a long while.

Surprised we had to hear this from Lloydy and Caro and not any of our own ITKs on here!!

This ecaxtly the player we need for our immediate and urgent shortfall in the midflied. Caldwell would only be good to us in 2 or more years, us being a top quality side in 2021.

The development of this list will stall or go into a holding pattern at best if our midfield has to rely on the likes of underdeveloped midfielders like Bytel and Jye to turn us into a top 4 side in 2021.

Go hard Letthers and Gubby, Tarranto is our man.

Jye would be icing on the cake though.

Our bank account is not very full.
At present 6th (which can change during finals) gives us pick 14 points (before free agency, zone and father son queue jumping = 1161 points
plus pick 58, 73 & 86 worth 170, 9 & 0 points total for 2020 = 1340 points
But finishing 6th next year would deliver picks 13, 31, 49,,67, 85 worth 1212, 606, 287, 69 points but we can only use our first round or all of the remaining for trade purposes so maximum is 1212 points.
So points alone maxes out at 2,552 points available to trade.

Taranto went pick No 2
PIck 2 is worth 2517 points

GWS would likely say picks alone we want your 2020 and 2021 first rounders = 2552 points for Taranto.
If we want both Taranto & Caldwell we are going to have to give to get.

Agree 100% . No point going for midfielders that still need development. Let's go for broke.

Taranto still under contract?? If that's the case, near impossible to get done, I'd say

Love to know the deal to get him. I'd prefer to rack up the picks to get Ben King to Moorabbin.

Why? Plenty of deals done for contracted players.
GWS has a huge list of A graders they have to sign up.
Losing one might mean they keep 3.

It will cost a bit but he is exactly what we need. Now Is the time to pay the cost. 21 years old inside outside mid would join Steele Jones and Gresh in the guts for next 6-8 years
