If we get him excellent.
If not..... let's move on.
He is not Lockett for gods sake.
Correct. He's not worth having. He's bad tempered and a proven sook. He also has a two year suspension hanging over his head and as Robbo has stated ,he has never managed a full season and has only played two good games in the past two years.
The Hawks are welcome to him, imhfo.
Wow. What happens if we get him?[/quote ]
I very much doubt that we will, and we will all be counting our good fortune when WADA's appeal rubs him out for a year or two.

Well the second part wont happen and I think the first part wont either so you better get to like him. He will be great for us.

North would be crazy to take Anderson for that and how the hell could Hawthorn fit Carlisle into their cap ?
I call BS.
Hang 'em out to dry Saints.
Worse case... we have pick 5. happy days !

Your opinion, not mine and I will bookmark your post to remind you how wrong you were.
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.
Looking at this now...
Essendon now have traded Melksham to Melbourne for pick 24.
Pick 5 for Carlisle and pick 24 seems about right to me.
Under the AFL points system that puts Carlisle's value between picks 15 & 16 - which is about right.
It gives Essendon consecutive early 1st round picks and St Kilda two picks under 25.
All reports are that Essendon have baulked at everything St Kilda have offered as pick 5 on its own is not on the table.
If St Kilda don't end up with Carlisle then the message from the club needs to be that he is not worth pick 5 on its own and that Essendon were being pig headed in the trade.
Also, Jed Anderson is not worth a 1st round pick. Not ever. North couldn't possibly agree to this deal.

Well, are you surprised? I'm not.
I think it's crap anyway. The hawks had no money for Suckling, now they have a spare 3/4 of a million bucks? bulls***.
I think the AFL needs to look closely at Hawthorn's salary cap and how they can keep adding high paid players to a premier team.
It's all a bit smoke and mirrors!

??? The goss is that evidently the Hawks have not actually spoken to him yet.
I believe you are right but someone from one of the mainstream papers spoke to him.
He's a bloody mercenary , he should have said, I've made a commitment to St kilda and I'm sticking to it, the clubs need to sort out a deal, not what ge apparently said.. Still think he was using us as coverage to go to Carltank originally.
SEN said Clarckson is currently trying to speak to him.
And the president said " I did not have sex with that woman"
And our former president said " Football is like golf"
So Henderson was honest and that makes him a bad bloke but all the players that lie and pretend they might stay when they know they are leaving are good blokes?
I dont think it is a big deal at all that Henderson said he was leaving. Doesnt make him a bad bloke. Its pretty normal in a team sport. The whole charade of pretending you might stay is ridiculous.

Do you think the AFL care one bit about Hawthorns salary cap? They are doing the AFL's work promoting the game in Tasmania and the AFL need them to be succesful and have set up the comp to keep these power clubs up there. All we are is development centers for the big clubs.

I would suggest the AFL would be pissed off if Carlisle went to the Hawks. And as if it matters to the AFL if the Hawks are successful to promote the game in Tassie. It doesn't need success to promote it. It just needs games there because they love their footy.

Won't lose a wink of sleep if we can't pull this one off and Jake goes elsewhere.
I'd certainly be talking to his management about heading to the PSD, front-loading that four-year contract into $1m in each of his first two seasons, and much lower amounts thereafter.
Why would Carlisle want to come to a club with a poor list management strategy? I'm sure he'd much rather be playing WITH the pick 5 from next season onwards.

I don't think he said he wants us to give Essendon pick 5. He said he wants the deal done. Pretty sure it is the writer who mentioned pick 5. I'm unsure what he has done wrong in this.
