That question was easy to answer (1 min) cause Jnr has the Herald Sun poster on the bedroom wall near the PC hehehe

OK

There has been only 2 matches where just 2 Saints players have kicked the total goals for the match.

Name the 2 players in each match and how many they kicked

The years of these 2 matches.

The sides we played

and finally

The match scores of both games

Was one of them Greg McAdam in 1986 against Carlton with a score of 2.17.29 to 25.19.169??

No greg Mc Adam was the only sole goal kicker for the saints...

I'm after 2 players that have kicked the total goals in 2 matches for the saints

Well in 1987 we played the Dees.
Final score 14.8.92 to 21.13.139
Lockett kicked 12. Someone else snagged the other 2. but not sure who it was. Owen?

I believe I have the answer.

1st - it was Jack McDonald (7 goals) and Jack Solomon (1 goal), against Carlton in 1949. The scores were - Sty Kilda 8.14 (62) lost to Carlton 14.11 (95), at the Junction Oval.

then, in 1987, Tony Lockett (12 goals) and Greg McAdam (2) contributed the entire major score of the Saints total 14.8. (98) in the loss against Melbourne, who booted 21.13 (139) at the MCG.

Thanks to allthestats.com and AFL 2004!

ric,

by my reference you are right on one, the one I disagree with is the 1987 match that both you and HD have mentioned.

I've got these details...

Round 10 26th June 1937

St Kilda 8:12:60 South Melb 14:18:102
Goals
Bill Mohr 5, Laird Smith 3

Round 7 28th May 1949

St Kilda 8:14:62 Carlton 14:11:95
Goals
Jack McDonald 7, Jack Solomon 1

reference.....

Well done though,
Your turn ric.........

Cool.

Here I go -

Fitzroy moved to St Kildas old Junction Oval home ground in 1970. What is significant about St Kildas first game as visitor at the ground? (there are 2 arguably significant things, and I'll pay either one).

Was it greatest winning margin or highest score at that time for the Saints in any game. Maybe both?

sorry to barge in on the quiz but does it have to do with the fact that before that game the highest winning margin was 109 at Junction oval in 1950 and both records were made in round 2?

ian stewart brought black shorts instead of white shorts to the game, was in the paper of the day.
Had one of the best all in brawls, Fitzroy had a little mongel named john newman who was one of the instigators , I think he hit barry pascoe behind play.
Police ran onto the ground to break it up.Great memories

So very, very close.
It was a score record, that much is known. But it was not a record directly involving the 'Roys, just that they were the team there on the day. Little clue there to help you along!

It would have been our then highest ever score, and probably our most scoring shots.
46.

it was the most scoring shots at the time...

however, we kicked 31:18 against melbourne in 1978 and then

16:32 against melbourne in 1981

Sorry, but we've gone off track again, guys.
Not thinking about the scoring shots something was significantr about the fixture, and the result pertains to that.

If I may offer a refrence - if anyone has "Every Game Ever Played", that may help you.
