You'll catch up!!!!! ;)
Yep, other novices like the reigning premiers.
Yep, the best team in the comp wanted Hickey, while Longer has gone from having two contracts earlier this year (Saints and Geelong according to Stoney) to having none at this point in time if I’m not mistaken!

Bring on Pierce and Marshall in 2019 :)
Enjoy the WAFL, novice!!!!!
Where’s Billy playing next year? All those contracts you were talking of seemed to have vanished! 😊

So St. Kilda were the only club to offer him a contract then?

Sounds about right!

Feel sorry for Tom..being desired by a current cashed-up premiership team and having to play home games to large crowds in a new stadium. Surely playing with us, in and out of the senior team under Richo is better?

Interesting how adamant stoney was in this alleged offer from Geelong. Funny that no other outlet reported on Geelong (or any other club for that matter) having any interest in Longer other than stoney himself.

Recruiters are firing up again and their finest is on display....hey take a really decent ruckman for our some sh!te pick #39 , oh and wait, let us give you our pick #60 because we are so scared we won't get that f@cking valuable pick #39!!!!!!!

If any club member can see this trade and regardless of the player not see how pathetic the team has become you're blind.

Buddy we got pick 39 for Hickey and the later picks aren’t worth much.

The denial is alarming isn’t it..?

The thing is, it’s not about Hickey per’se... it’s about the deal. We should have been able to leverage that.

All these threads about hating Essendon and Deldaro (or whatever his f’ing name is)...
Do ppl understand why we hate him... it’s because he WINS. He gets players to go to that club and he bends over the seller/buyer to get them to overbuy or undersell.

Essendon have won every trade they’ve done with us in the last 10 years... a first rounder for Lovett, they got more than they should have been able to for Carlisle considering he wanted to go and nominated us... and Goddard, well they landed a excellent free agent which we have yet to be able to do.

If you’re not concerned that they get results like this and we’re making mediocre deals like this... blind as they come

I'm baffled too. We've got pick 39 for Hickey! You take that any day of the week, particularly in this draft.

Gary Rohan to Geelong for #61...yeah, not much value in those 4th round picks.

WTF!!!!!!!!!!!

- WCE Tom Hickey, pick 60 and St Kilda's future fourth round pick.
- St Kilda, get pick 39 and a future fourth round pick (and their puck will be above ours!!!!grrrr).

So that is Hickey for what the equivalent of high 40's pick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bent over big time. So much for Lethlean being the new wonder kid.

I fear for the Hannebery trade cost now.

PS: We gained a pick 21 for Stanley.....

So we give away our best ruckman.......pfft..... and for a crappy pick. Thank you Richardson Lethlean, and Gallagher for proving that you are rank amateurs. Good Luck to Tom Hickey. He'll do really well at West Coast and Richo will have some explaining to do.

West coast came out ahead here but not by much. Hickey was in and out of the team through out the year due to his lack of ability. And look who replaced him. Someone crap. Bottom.line is he now goes west and we get to see how he goes under a different coach

They wouldn't even want or need him if Natanui was injured and Lycett left. Remember that. We did very well to get pick 39 for an average ruckman that could barely get a game in a bottom 6 side. Plus it frees up 600k. Win win.

Why do posters just explode on here without analysing the situation correctly? Do you actually seek the negatives first before using common sense and seeing the positives also?

Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

Exactly where in that paragraph has he “overstated” Hickey’s ability?

Completely agree

Not sure why many are exaggerating Hickey's abilities.

Pick #39 is actually pretty good for him - and we may pick up a real talent at #39

West Coast just need an emergency Ruck - I fore see him in the WAFL most of the season
