Great start and come on guys. There are still plenty who normally help the club that haven't committed yet. Lets not take personalities into account.
Plug, is it $20 a share?

Re: Player sponsorship
Sorry if this sounds crazy, but what exactly is the point of sponsoring an AFL listed player?
I don't get it. They are paid very well compared to the majority of people out there (including myself).
This is different from raising money for a local football club etc with limited funds etc, so what exactly is the money raised going to/for exactly?
Just curious.

Re: Player sponsorship
I'm doing it because I imagine the money goes to the club. Not sure if it goes towards the player payments, but it doesn't matter. If the money goes to the club then that's what counts.lefty wrote:Sorry if this sounds crazy, but what exactly is the point of sponsoring an AFL listed player?

Nothing to do with the player. To be honest if a player wasn't sponsored at all they would probably be very happy as they wouldn't have to attend functions. All the money goes to the club. Its just like a membership which for a lot of people is basically a donation. So is this. We can say why give but our club is something like 9 million in debt. Hardly flushed with funds.

Re: Player sponsorship
Plugs, please re-consider your choice to stand down. Great that you took it up. You have total confidence of the mods to collect and distribute the money and any tickets or associated items.
Posts not related to the collection of money have been re-located to the Administration Forum in a thread entitled, "Re-located Player Sponsorship Posts".
Ian Rush, Saynta, Loris - anyone else who wants to discuss matters not in support of raising sponsorship money for the club, please take your discussion there. Any further posts in this thread not in support of player sponsorship will be deleted.

Re: Player sponsorship
66 shares taken. Anyone interested in doing the collecting of money. I don't feel I can do it anymore. I'm sorry about that but its a good start to the collection. I'm sure a more trustworthy person will get ore shares sold. Its a bit emabarrassing though as the Saints guy has my details. I will pass them on to the new volunteer.

Re: Player sponsorship
Before Plugger volunteered, I had told Mr. Magic I was prepared to do it if nobody else put their hand up.
I guess that's where we're at now.
If any of the wonderful people who have pledged already change their mind because it's not Plugger, just let me know. I won't be offended.
Here is the list as I have it. Sorry about the formatting.

Re: Player sponsorship
Kosi- please put me down for 5 units - $100. I am happy with whomever is selected, but would hope it was one of the first years, including NOK or Nicholas C. Although they don't get the money, they might see it as a vote of confidence for a young lad. Also nice to start a journey with them.

Put me down for 5 shares as well. Brandon White would be ideal IMHO.

Re: Player sponsorship
I'll second plugs re #gosaints pledge of 10 shares. Very dubious at best.
i am Melbourne Skies - sometimes Blue Skies, Grey Skies, even Partly Cloudy Skies.

Re: Player sponsorship
Still 21 shares left.
Lots of people in this thread:
http://saintsational.net/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=88807
were very passionate about watching the young Saints players develop. I can't think of a better way of showing your support for our young players than getting involved in the sponsorship.

Re: 2016 SPONSORHIP GROUP
The pledge thread has become an announcement at the top of the page.
Just in case you couldn't find it like me. I've bumped this thread. But if you commit in either thread I'll pick it up.
