Hocking, who wasn't in last week's team as he recovered from "a slight knee aggravation", said the Bombers weren't affected by the drama.
"We're elite athletes, so we've got to prepare for everything," he said on Thursday.
"We just trained hard on Sunday morning and then had a pretty normal week.
"We're going to go into this week and start practising what we've learnt over the pre-season and see how it all goes, and start preparing for round one.
"But I wouldn't say that we're back any further than what we would be."
