And herein lies the problem.Cairnsman wrote:Get used to the heat being poured on Roo and BJ because most pundits can see that there is something wrong with them. They are not above the club.
Please point out any post in this debacle of a thread which argues that you don't have the right to criticize Roo or BJ or any other player.
The objection from me (and seemingly most others) is purely to your characterization that they are a 'cancer' in the Club.
You just don't understand that might be insensitive to some?
You just don't understand that it might be objectionable to some?
You just don't understand that it might be hurtful to some?
Or you just don't care?

He kind of strikes me as a cross between Bob Katter and Andrew Bolt. Character-driven opinion. Yeah, the term's gonna turn a few heads, but really, that's why he used it, so there, he wins. Yawn. It's hardly a new trick.
"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

Although the word cancer may have several definitions its use in this thread would be hurtful to those whose life's have been touched by the disease.
But also, the use of the word is extremely disrespectful of two great servants of our footy club.
IMO of course.

Only problem is that the CHB as we knew it is basically obsolete with the way the game is being played at the moment.DWOODROW wrote:I reckon Goddard would be much better there.Cairnsman wrote:Would Roo work at CHB?bigcarl wrote:New roles for Goddard and Riewoldt. I reckon his leadership(when he is up) would be beneficial to direct people around and rebound off half back.maybe I,m a little old fashioned

I just want him to go out there like Ablett does for the Suns and say 'f*** it I'm better than this s***, I'm gonna rise above.'
He will soon. Too good not to.

And then this thread will look even more stupid than it currently does; hard to believe I know

Why are we driving wedges through the club and players like this. With all the crap that was out in the media over the last 2 years other people have been gunning for us.
Lets stick it up them and hang tough ok we have problems and i think playing the kids is a good idear we could weed out the ones that carnt play. But iam allso very excited about the rest of this year and next year.
We are just reloading with a young energetic team some guys will have 30,40 games under there belt it is exciting times ahead.
Look how Armo, steven, smith, cripps, are playing good footy,as long as we keep trying the young guys and dont revert back to the old fellars.

Haven't been on here much lately (buying a house and selling mine = too busy), but I honestly cannot believe the way some supporters have dropped off our stars. I am absolutely staggered.BigMart wrote:I honestly believe people who critisise nick and to a lesser extent bj to anymore of an extent than they have been disappointing So far in 2011
Need to refresh thier memories.....
Given nick has given 10 years of excellence....possibly, arguably our greatest player....
Bj has, since 2007 gone from, good to very good to elite......
Same goes for dal, joey, sam, blakey, bakes, milney, lenny....this group has played through and largely been responsible for one of our greatest eras
The above pretty sums up my feeling. Two of our greatest ever players are being blamed for destroying the club's chances and as a result people want to get rid of one or both of them....amazing...absolutely amazing.
Both have enough credits in the bank I would have thought.
Both were lauded as Gods virtually - about 7 games ago (BJ in GF one and two) and a few games before that Roo in the earlier finals.
Yet less than 10 games later people are accusing them of destroying the club and wanting to see what they are worth in the market place.
I honestly shake my head.
We wonder why people say we self destruct from the inside out....
"At the end of the day, a coach and a fitness adviser doesn't make a good football team, they're not the only ones who got us to two Grand Finals." Lenny Hayes. 27/9/2011.
